After a semi-tramatic experience with Windemere, where my roomates and I were refused a place based on our age, Excel properties was non-discriminatory and very helpful. Anne-Marie Kriedler, the president, has always been super-nice and knowledgable about the current Seattle market--especially in the Greenlake area. We have used them as our agent to acquire 2 rentals and a condo puchase, and have never been disappointed.

Washington Mutual is a good bank, i prefer it rather then Bank of America because there are no hidden fees. My sister used to work there and said she loved the people, the job, and none of her customers never complained once. There is a Washington Mutual on 15th around 85th by Whitman Middle school. There are actaully a few so check one out.

I have lived here for 5 years and have not minded it up until this last year. When I first moved into these apartments the facility was extremely clean and well kept with excellent management. It is still really nice but management has become lax on certain things. For example, we recently had 3 new neighbors move in and they ALL play their music WAY TOO LOUD. One individual played his music at 3:00am. I called the security person and he informed me that it wasn't his job and that I should call the police. I didn't want to call the police so I asked the individual to turn it down. Management informed me, from the very beginning, that if these problems were to ever occur that they would take care of it and to call security. I have asked management to take over these problems and yet they still keep occurring.
Other than management I would say that these apartments are really clean and nice to live in. Don't let the workout room fool you, its crap! In all the years I have lived there I have only used it twice.
The neighborhood is ghetto and you will hear an occasional gun shot.
My boyfriend and I aren't really fazed by all this and haven't had any real problems accept for our loud neighbors.

I bought my first house last year and contacted Erik after hearing him speak at a first time buyers class. I was impressed with his experience working with first time buyers and felt comfortable working with someone who could understand me being new to the process! Erik worked well within my money limits and showed me some great houses I woulnd't have found without his help. He or his assistants always seemed to be able to answer my questions, even when I got a bit panicked at times. Big thumbs up for Erik!

How can you forget a name like Fiore? The name in italian means "flower" and this cute, italian real estate agent knows what it takes to make a house a home. Before you get all excited though, he IS taken (married to the fabulous local actress from Theater Schmeater, Miss Intermission, Lisa Neal).
Fiore is first and foremost a Seattle local boy (grew up on Capital Hill), is a former teacher (knows Seattle neighborhood schools intimately), an avid runner, gardener and cook.
If nothing else, call him just to receive his regular monthly flier - packed with recipes from the old country, fun photos of Miss Intermission or their newborn baby girl and buying/selling tips. Proceeds from all his sales go to the Lifelong AIDS Alliance. A real estate agent with a HEART! Wow.
We bought an incredible house in Ravenna for a song through Fiore (there were 11 other offers on the house)! It was a fast and furious process but Fiore got us through in a calm, efficient and positive manner. More importantly, he got us the house!!! He has a ready smile and will go the extra mile for you.

While I have never bought a house from Darrin, I do know that he is a VERY dynamic person. He's really involved in the process. I like Darrin because his assertive attitude and friendly conversation is engaging and can actually make you feel comfortable very quickly. I wouldn't buy something from someone who couldn't engage on a real level. He might seem intimidating to the introverted, but he's not intimidating at all.
And he seems to sell a lot of houses.

They are not built yet, but the Mirabella looks like it is going to be the ultimate in urban retirement living. They have spacious view apartments, outstanding array services, amenities, and several levels of on-site health care.

But my experience with Alpine was certainly positive.I can't speak for the rest of the mortgage company, but Tina Carter is certainly one of the finest folks in the business. She's professional, straight forward and honest. I had done a fair amount of research before I went to see her and she guided me through the decision process with ease.

I have been impressed twice with Windermere real estate associates. Rene Stern (http://www.renestern.com/) at the Queen Anne office is clearly the most creative, savvy and truly passionate...almost holistic personal real estate associate I have ever known. Jim Bernard (http://jimbernard.mywindermere.com/) hits all those marks, helping his clients navigate the waters of commercial real estate.
I am in the initial fact-finding phase, but from what I have gathered Jim has a multi-faceted background including experience in escrow and investment real estate. He brings it all to bear. I find Jim to be resourceful and willing to generously roll up his sleeves. I think he is a genuine guy in a shark-filled tank.
The road ahead is long. I'll keep you posted.
