Recently my wife and I decided to purchase a home in Seattle and because we were new to buying real estate, decided to use an agent. Hiep at Portico Properties was an excellent agent. He never forced us to look at properties that were out of our price range or that didn't meet our preferences. When we finally settled on a house he was very helpful in making the offer and setting expectations. I will use Portico next time I buy a house.

If you are looking to sell your house or buy a new house, I strongly recommend Eileen Rumph out of the Sand Point Windemere Office. We interviewed lots of realtors when buying our last house, and she was far and above the best.
Her attention to detail, availability, knowledge of our market and sensitivity to our price/appearance desires was great. It only took us one week to find the house we love at a price we could afford.
In addition to being smart, savvy, well-connected and a hard worker -- Eileen was also really nice and fun.

OK, OK, she's my mom. But she's also a truly excellent residential real estate agent - with 30 years' experience in the Seattle market. Her style is of the old school - before real estate became a hot way for young hustlers to make a buck. She cares about people, she loves houses, and she loves to play matchmaker between the two. She's also a super-tough negotiator on her client's behalf, so don't take her gracious demeanor for weakness. The only reason I didn't give her a 10 is that she makes regular trips out of town to see her grandchildren - so she's not always on call (just most of the time). Don't take my word for it - give her a call and ask her advice on the Seattle market.

With Peggy's help, we found and purchased our home near Greenlake in less than one week. Although she lists houses for sale, I belive her real skill is finding exactly what you want, and although she covers the Seattle are, I think she is best finding homes north of the Ship Canal (such areas as Wallingford, Fremont, Ballard, University District, Greenlake, Greenwood, Maple Leaf, Shoreline, etc.). We have referred her to a half dozen or so friends, all of whom have been very satisfied with her services and have found their dream homes within two weeks. Peggy takes clients by referral only, so please feel free to use my name.

If you use Prudential Northwest Realty
with its two locations in West Seattle,
try agent John McCarthy or Eve
Anthony. I have worked along with
realtors for over 15 years. I've
seen many that are good and many
that are not so good. What I call
good is looking out for the best
interest of the customer. All do
not have that in mind. Don't be
fooled. John McCarthy is probably
the most down to earth, easy going
not just realtor but person I have
ever met. But when it comes time
to handle his customers, he goes
the full route. He listens, he searches,
he does a lot of leg work with the
customer needs in mind. He's terrific
if you are looking for a good realtor.

Brandon recently helped us purchase our house in Seattle this spring, and in a market that is as volatile as this one, it was good to have him working on our side.
Throughout the entire process, Brandon was readily accessible to us, even taking panicked phone calls from us in the middle of the night, meeting us at a moment's notice to look at houses that had just come on the market hours earlier and attending all essential meetings with us (and sometimes without us when necessary) as our agent -- at all times representing our interests.
Once we finally found a house to purchase, he was in constant communication with us, keeping us posted on every aspect of the transaction--from presenting the offer, working with our lender to ensure the financing went smoothly, inspections, escrow, forewarning us of potential pitfalls, etc. He consistently went above and beyond for us to ensure the deal went smoothly.
Brandon is a great agent who respects and takes care of his clients. He is honest, professional, contentious and will at all times represent his client's interest without compromise. He'll teach you as much or as little as you want to know about real estate transactions and let you conduct the process as you'd prefer.

I have known and used Hamid Kebritchi as a realtor for many years. He goes all out for his customers. He is a great listener so knows exactly what you are looking for in a house. He is a hard worker. When it comes to listings, he goes all out to get the property sold.
Highly recommended.
