I've worked with Jim on my last 3 home sales and find his knowledge of real estate, especially the Seattle market, to be valuable. His responsive dedication makes a real difference. Even under tight timelines, he always delivered on time. Jim is easy to work with. I appreciate his friendly, yet professional demeanor. I value our relationship as an agent, and now as a friend.

Stewart Title handled our escrow through a first home purchase. Linda LaPointe was very helpful as well as friendly. She made the paperwork clear and the whole process was much easier than I expected. She also didn't make a fuss when we had to bring our kids in with us and helped us get them comfortable so that we could sign all of the paperwork without too much distraction.

Excellent real estate group run by Edward Krigsman, ex John L Scott agent. Edward and co. are smart, conscientious, professional brokers who know the Seattle market well.
I always describe Edward to people as being "as smart as you are." We have bought twice and sold once with Edward and would recommend him without reservation.

If you use Prudential Northwest Realty
with its two locations in West Seattle,
try agent John McCarthy or Eve
Anthony. I have worked along with
realtors for over 15 years. I've
seen many that are good and many
that are not so good. What I call
good is looking out for the best
interest of the customer. All do
not have that in mind. Don't be
fooled. John McCarthy is probably
the most down to earth, easy going
not just realtor but person I have
ever met. But when it comes time
to handle his customers, he goes
the full route. He listens, he searches,
he does a lot of leg work with the
customer needs in mind. He's terrific
if you are looking for a good realtor.

More
When we bought our first house in Seattle, we used the first agent we found. She was incredibly inept, couldn't use a computer, showed us every property even if it obviously didn't fit our needs, had to fill out every form three times before getting it correct, and even had us sign all the way through the wrong papers at signing - so we had to do it twice! After this nightmare, we finally got a house, mostly due to our own effort and pains. We swore to never use a crappy agent again.
Four years later we are selling our house and moving to something a little bigger. Luckily Brent found us. We were immediately impressed by his organization and professionalism. His office had tons of information packets for us with all the things we needed to think about and process to sell our house and find a new one.
Brent's process took in lots of info from us and then he helped us scour the hundreds of listings for ones that would be just right for us. He was extremely helpful with gauging pricing and individual factors within each home. During the inspection, he helped the inspector check outlets and find features of the house to help speed the process, and scheduled a sewer video scoping to help us best evaluate the property.
Last week we found our dream house and this week our house goes on the market. It's amazing how pain-free and enlightening the process has been this time around with a good agent.
Choose your agent wisely, it'll be an extremely painful two months of your life if you don't use a good one. ;-)

More
Summerfield Suites is a really nice extended stay hotel where my husband and I reserve a room for my in-laws whenever they come to town. It's very reasonably priced for what you get, so we like it, too. My in-laws have recommended it to all their friends who come to visit Seattle, too. The suites are great, neutrally but tastefully decorated, and fairly spacious. The location is ideal, just West of Capitol Hill, just North of First Hill, and on the Eastern edge of downtown by the convention center. It's super easy to walk to and from downtown and almost just as easy to walk to the Pike/Pine corridor, although it's uphill getting there. Although the hotel is located directly over I-5 where it passes through downtown, it's very well insulated from the freeway noise. Rooms with a view can see the Space Needle and the fireworks display on 4th of July.
They offer several different room configurations, the more expensive options being the ones where the living/dining area is separate from the bedroom(s). Those suites feel just like corporate housing, if you've ever been there. All have a small "vanity" area/room that is separate from the bathroom so that the bathroom mirror isn't the only mirror in the suite. Each suite has a desk with one of those fancy Aeron desk chairs, which are really as comfortable as everyone claims.
The kitchen in every suite comes with decent counterspace, a microwave, sink, dishwasher, and fridge. Everything's always very clean and well-maintained. Every morning, they serve a continental breakfast buffet complete with make-your-own waffles. There's even a small convenience store area in the lobby where you can buy foods to cook in your room. If you don't feel like cooking in your room, there are a number of good restaurants within a block or two, several of which offer delivery service to the hotel.
There is a small, heated rooftop pool where kids like to play as well as a small adjoining gym.
The staff are very nice, especially the guys in the parking garage. We are always in and out picking up the parents and dropping them off and the valets are always okay with us parking in one of the short-term spots for free. Overnight parking incurs $20-something (or whatever is the usual for hotels).
As an added bonus, you might run into celebrities if you stay here. The Paramount is nearby, after all. My husband recently met LL Cool J and his entourage in the lobby as they were checking out!

Husband-and-wife team Ian Bell and Jeretta McRae did not find our house -- we happened upon it driving around one weekend. But it was For Sale By Owner, and the transaction would have been impossible given the contentious attitude of the sellers without their help. They managed to get us to closing in about three weeks -- practically unheard of -- despite issues with the homeowners, scheduling the appraisal and inspection on such short notice, and getting escrow on board. And they did it all with minimal stress or inconvenience to us. Their website is a pleasure to use, and their friendliness and professionalism put us at ease. Great people; highly recommended.
