We just started using this diaper service and I am already loving it! These cloth diapers are high quality, compared to store bought cloth diapers. They are much more absorbent and keep baby drier longer. I am very impressed with this service and it doesn't cost any more than disposable diapers. I would recommend any family to use this service. It is very professional, it is a fantastic alternative to disposables, they are MUCH better for the environment and most importantly they are better for baby.

More
Dream Dinners in West Seattle allows me to go in once a month and cook meals for my family to freeze and then enjoy all month long. The menu changes each month. You select from fourteen entrees (I usually cook 12 entrees, split them in half again, and leave with 24 meals for my family of two adults and two young children). Ingredients are set out for you, along with each recipee and containers for freezing.
I've been hooked for the past six months, and can't imagine going without Dream Dinners.
I recommend going with friends so you can make it a night out afterwards. Consider getting a group together and donating a meal to a friend in need (new baby? family crisis?)
Leslie, the West Seattle owner, is happy to offer fund raising options for local groups....a great way to try it out with friends.

I got three massages while I was pregnant.
One at a salon/spa on Queen Anne, one at Habitude, and one at Gracewinds. Gracewinds was by FAR the best experience. The staff there go through special training in prenatal massage (unlike at other spas where they just seemed to slightly alter a regular massage). Anyway, I was so relaxed and blissed after my massage at Gracewinds, I literally had to count my money 5 times before paying. I was so out of it. It was heavenly. I only wish I hadn't wasted my two previous massages on places that weren't nearly so great at catering to the needs of my swelling body.

i've become a big fan of the gymboree play classes offered at sandpoint/magnuson park. and even though i'm frustrated that my daughter is crawling out of her crib before she is 2 years old, she is doing it perfectly without a single thud or bang and she has stuck the landing every time. all of these skills i attribute to the time she has spent at gymboree classes climbing, jumping, balancing, falling, bouncing, rolling, sliding, swinging, hanging and having fun. most of the classes are in the mornings with some evening and weekend classes as well. they last 45 minutes and have some elements that repeat from week to week like song and bubble time. kids love hearing the bells to come to the circle for bubbles and seem to really love the anticipation. music and art classes are offered here as well. for the summer they are offering a 2 for the price of 1 deal where your child can either take 2 classes (eg. one play and one art) a week or you can enroll 2 siblings.

More
When I was searching for full-time childcare for my infant, I debated using a center versus a family daycare home. There are obviously pros and cons to both. A friend recommended this daycare that she herself uses for her 2 kids. This provider has been licensed for over 10 years, has 2 school age kids of her own. Her "assistant" is her husband, so they are licensed for 12 children, full-time but they are not at full enrollment. My son is the youngest child there, at ten months old. They are allowed to have 2 infants full-time. The communication has been good, which is important for all daycare, but especially infant care and they have been accommodating to my work schedule which can fluctuate (part of the year I need to drop off earlier than they traditionally open). The prices are competitive for the area.

Imagination Toys has shelves brimming with toys for all ages. I always head there when I have a kid's birthday party coming up because I can always find something that I know will be well loved and played with. No junk toys here! The selection is predominantly "educational" and geared towards playing with imagination. The age range for the toys starts with tiny babies and goes on up from there. You can find games, books, stuffed animals, dress up clothes, puzzles, Playmobil figurines, art supplies, and so much more than would be possible to list here. You can also find cards to go along with any toys you would be buying as gifts. The really great thing about Imagination toys is the staff. You will always be greeted by a friendly face willing to help if you need direction throughout the store or in selecting an item. Kids at heart themselves, the staff make this toy store a fun place to buy toys. And you are supporting a local, independent business, what could be better!

I love this store. I wish we lived closer. I have a LOT of books from this store - can't beat 50 cents for a good quality board book. I also love the $1 rack for clothes. Its a little crowded so keep that in mind - don't bring your double stroller!

More
Kids Time is a before and after school care just to the west of Wedgwood Elementary during the school year, and over towards the View Point fields during the summer. It is run by the Ravenna Eckstein Advisory Council, so rates are set by the city and are reasonable. With our youngest daughter attending for the last 5 years, we can confidently express our satisfaction with the program. The staff are always what make or break such a program and we've always been pleased with these staff member, despite the inevitable turnover (less than in similar places elsewhere).

My kid was here for a couple of weeks. This is a horrible place, Teachers here are not experienced and have no idea dealing kids. They just provide toys etc to kids and sit idle. They do not pay attention and do not want to know what kids are doing.Your kid will never learn anything new, however chances are that your child even starting to forget what he/she already knows before coming to this center. There are no creative activities at all. It is better for your kid to stay at home instead.
