First, it has the old gas works that you can play around on. Second, it has a nice hilly area where you can walk or fly kites on, as it's always windy. Third, it has the best view ever. Fourth, there’s always a decent crowd for the people watchers; I once saw some cheerleaders practicing maneuvers here. I love to take out-of-town visitors.

This is a huge park with a spectacular view of downtown Seattle and Lake Union. There are plenty of grassy areas to hang out and eat lunch. If you don't want to sit on the grass there are also picnic tables in a sheltered area as well. You can also get some amazing pictures of the old industrial equipment that sits in the middle of the park. This is a great place to take you friends that come from out of town.

The view of downtown Seattle really doesn't get any better than at Gas Works Park. Come here on a sunny weekend day to watch the sailboats on Lake Union, or at sunset to see the sun disappear behind Mount Olympus and the city lights come up, one by one. On a windy day, bring a kite. Be sure to check out the big funky sundial at the top of the hill.
It's a fascinating place to watch people, too. Morris dancers practice here on summer evenings, and skateboarders grind on the concrete. Sun worshippers and kite flyers are well represented.

I've been here twice. One when I was in elementary school. I thought it was nice, but I was a kid...any park is great. The other time was in highschool when we went to watch fireworks. Certainly an old park, but still remains very popular. Has nice view of the city, lots of trails, and local events.

Gasworks Park is a very old park with an old history. It is located right there on Lake Union giving it a wonderful view. Its a very hilly park, has a huge hill that you can get on top of and fly kites or just enjoy the view of the lake, the Space Needle, and the boats. This park is very popular, especially on the 4th of July. It is packed with people ready to watch the fireworks. They hold many festivals here at this park. This park also has lots of trails for walking and a play area with a play barn. Its one of the oldest parks in Seattle.
