I'm a native New Yorker who has lived in Seattle for 10+ years, and I can tell you that Hot Mama's is the closest to NY pizza that I've found so far. Not only is the crust billowy at the edges and thin in the center, but the pizza sauce is perfectly seasoned. Hot Mama's doesn't have a real dining room, just a small dining area with stools and counters that accommodates no more than eight people comfortable. Parking in the neighborhood is a real chore, so take-out might be a pain. Fortunately, they do deliver.

Hot Mama's looks like a total hole in the wall from the outside, but their pizza is fantastic. I think it is the best in Seattle. New York style with a great thin crust. Yum! I especially like the pesto pizza. It has a pesto sauce (not tomato), mozzarella cheese and like a feta type of cheese as well. It is amazing! And cheap!

Hot Mama's is a mainstay of the drunken public that frequents the bars on Pike-Pine street.
A hole in the wall pizzaria with limited seating, Hot Mama's has some suprisingly delicious pizza (coming from a pizza conisour from Jersey). Hot Mama's is not quite a New York slice but is close enough to satisfy that pizza craving. I reccomend a slice of Mama's Choice (fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, roasted garlic, and green stuff).
If you are in the neighborhood drop in for a slice. Hot Mama's also delivers for free but the drivers tend to go home early.
