I've been going to Pizza Brava since 1998, and while I loved it from the beginning, it's only gotten better, especially since it came under new management recently. The price of a cheese slice is now $2, up from $1.75, but I really can't complain, since the slices tend to be large, and they're delicious. Other varieties cost up to around $2.75 a slice. Pizza Brava now also serves falafel sandwiches, an unusual complement to pizza, but makes it easier to take a group there and everyone find what they want. It's a small place, but with the new counter spaces, it seems a little bigger.

The slices at Pizza Brava are *huge*. They are more than 2 times the size of a Pagliacci slice. and I think the pizza has been steadily improving for that last few months. They usually reheat, so the crust ends up being pretty crispy. The pizza is fine, not so bad that it's not worth the deal. and, actually, after you've eaten there enough, it kind of grows on you.

Pizza Brava is a cramped, unkempt, greasy-looking little joint in the University District, and in my opinion, offers the best pizza in Seattle. Pizza here suffers from an advanced case of Californication—an unhealthy obsession with esoteric, high-end toppings that obscures a dangerous misunderstanding of the fundamental building blocks of a great pie: crust, sauce (and a distant third) cheese. The most popular pizza places don’t have these things right. Pizza Brava does. I’m sure there are other little mom & pop places in this fair city that are just as good, and hopefully I’ll find them.
