Maybe I am rude too because I have never been offended by James. Quite the opposite--I have asked him questions about my dog's health and well being that even I know are ridiculous, and he has always been polite and responsive. Besides, you are getting your dog groomed so let's focus on what matters. The shop provides a clean, safe, calm atmosphere for your dog, and the grooming is top notch. My soft coated wheaten terrier comes out looking like a soft coated wheaten terrier is supposed to look. Adrianne knows her stuff and is gentle and kind with our much loved 4 legged friend. I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else in Seattle.
Pros: Clean, safe, knowledgeable groomer
Cons: None

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!!!! The owner, James, is VERY VERY RUDE. He doesn't understand customer service and nor does he understand dogs!!!!!!! We recently moved here and was referred to this place and at first had a great impression because of Adrianne who understood dogs and people's schedules. It's too bad because before James took over, Doggie Style had a great reputation... unfortunately James has ruined that reputation. James, my suggestion is for you to take your business to another neighborhood because we don't want rude people like you here...nor should our dog's be around you!!!! I informed them that my dog has been to groomer's many times but gets scared but wouldn't hurt a fly. I dropped him off at 10:15am and went to pick him up at 1pm and he still was not ready. James was very rude to me & acted as though I didn't know how my dog acts and he needed more time to finish him. I think James was more upset because I didn't "follow his order's" by waiting for him to call when my dog was done. (Adrianne finished some of the service) and James told he wouldn't take my dog again & didn't charge me (thank god because I would have given him a dime). I have never written a review but knew I just needed to get the word out about James and his business. He should be reported to the Human Society as well!
Pros: Adrianne is great with dogs!
Cons: James doesn't understand dogs!

We love, love, love Adrienne the groomer. She is professional, friendly and gives our dog a fantastic hair cut. He is at ease with her and always loves going there. On the other hand, the owner is rude, snippy and offers unsolicited medical and pet care advise. We highly recommend Adrienne, but if she didn't work there we wouldn't take our dog to Doggie Style.

I asked a few people at the dog park where they take their dogs and three people in a row said, You will love Adriann at Doggie Style Seattle. The first time I called to make an appointment the man who answered said, We are not taking new clients at this time. I called back a week later and spoke to Adriann herself. She agreed to see us with a bit of begging on my part.
I am so happy that I called back because we had a wonderful experience. My dog, Lola, always seems a bit freaked out when I pick her up from the groomer, but not this time. She was a bit nervous when I brought her in, never a fan of unfamiliar places. Adriann made both of us feel comfortable from the minute we walked into this cute shop. After explaining the hairstyle I would like I asked how long Lola would have to stay. This is the best part.... Adriann asked if I could come back and get her as soon as she was ready in 1.5 hrs. I was kind of shocked. My experience has always been that I have to leave my dog all day. She explained that since they are a small shop they are able to, and prefer, that dogs stay no longer than four hours. When I came back to get Lola she was happily socializing with two other little dogs. Her cut was darling and she was happy. We will be loyal customers for a long time.

We brought our puppy to Adrianne, the pet stylist at this shop, for her first groom seven months ago and have been back every six weeks since. We feel like our favorite family member is in good hands every time we drop her off. Adrianne always accommodates our special requests in a professional manner and seems to genuinely enjoy our dog. Our pup always has a great hair cut and seems happy to be left at this shop for a couple of hours. Parking is a breeze, you pull right up to the door. The only negative is that the owner often gives unsolicited advice about dog training, kind of rude. Keep your conversation focused on Adrianne to avoid this. Our friends and neighbors that have been to this shop agree with us that their dogs seem to have a good time at this place.
Pros: Small shop, same groomer each time, easy parking, fast service, reminder calls
Cons: unprofessional owner

GrisGris and Chloe can't wait to go to Doggie Style. I followed Adrianne over to Maple Leaf and I live in West Seattle. My dogs look so good and better yet feel so good after going. GrisGris's fur shines and her cut is adorable. They bring out the personality of your pooch. Chloe is actually all white again... no more yellow. The girls get to play with the other dogs while waiting for me.
Prices are so reasonable, it's easy to get an appointment, and there's tons of on street parking.
I also have to say I love James the owner, he has a sly sense of humor, and is soooo good with all 3 of my dogs.
Pros: Speedy, great cuts, lots of parking, reasonable prices,
Cons: none

Doggie Style handled my springer spaniel (who has lots of extra energy) with grace. This was our first visit to any groomer and we were all a bit nervous, but her trim looks great and she smells divine. The salon space is small but very clean. Parking wasn't an issue (there's a 30 minute loading zone right outside the door). We will definitely be back for more.

I had high hopes. They were ok, just not what I was looking for. You definitely get what you pay for.
While these guys have their heart in the right place...they were not the place for my dog. They do not have the equipment or the capicity to do my dog quickly. They have very little storage space; and the space THEY DO HAVE is small.
I'm sure they are good for some people. Just not for mine.
Pros: Nice guys.
Cons: Lack experience; space; parking.

We took our cocker spaniel to Doggy Style and had a great experience. He just gets a short clip, nothing fancy, an all-over buzz cut pretty much. The second time I tried to make an appointment, they were closed and on vacation for what seemed like a month. After that, I tried to make an appointment, the guy said "hold on a sec", put the phone down and NEVER came back. I think he totally forgot about me. I could hear him in the back ground chatting with someone, but totally forgot about me and I finally hung up. When we were finally able to make an appointment, we said we would pick him up after work and they said that was fine (it was 5:00 p.m. - the latest you can pick up your dog before they close which is kind of inconvenient for those that work full time but whatever). I got a confirmation the day before, and everything was still fine. Well, when my boyfriend drops him off that morning, he's told that they are closing the doors at 2 so we HAD to pick him up before that. They are supposed to be open until 5 but suddenly decided to close early that day. Grrrr. I had to find a ride (fortunately I wasn't working that day, but no car) to go and get my dog. When I got there, I paid and they brought my dog out, who was promptly goaded into a fight by the resident loose dog they have there. No one seemed in too much of a hurry to separate them, and when they did, I rushed my dog out to get him away. Wasn't till after that that I noticed, he basically got a wash but no haircut. They cut the fur around his eyes, and that's it. Not at ALL what we asked for. Since my ride was waiting, we had to go, but I called them later and left a message telling them I was disappointed. Someone called the next day, left a message on our voice mail saying that if we bring him in, they'll groom him. That's it - no apology, no offer to do it free of charge - nothing. They screwed up, but didn't care. We will not be taking them up on there offer to bring him back, and WILL be looking for another groomer. It's too bad too, because the first time we went there, I would have HIGHLY recommended them!
