Lucky Dog is a dog care and dog wash facility which I would avoid. The business has a typical small dog day care/ dog wash facility history...it has been sold at least once that I know of. My dog has gone there for several years, and for the most part they have done a good job both when I've gone for washes and used them for boarding.
The bad news is that they are not dependable and have had some difficulties maintaining a facility which is clean and safe for our canine brethren. In July of 2007 about 8 months after they were sold to the current owner/operator, they had a problem with a dog (or dogs?) which gave many of the other dogs staying there "Kennel Cough." The owners/ employees were forthright in discussing this with patrons, however, the operations of the company started going South at this point. The management began complete overkill with "health issues." It got to the point of complete absurdity very quickly, with the management asking a long laundry list of new "tests" and requirements for dogs to stay there. The lousy part was that they changed the rules by the week, asking for "fico float tests" and "immunizations current down to the day."
That's all well and good, and better for the dog owners that drop the dogs off there. The terrible part in the management execution of the new 'stepped up' health measures is that if you have an appointment to leave your dog there for the day or night, or for a bath, they turn you away at the door for something new every time you show up.
Long story short--I have discussed this issue with other patrons and with two local vets and the consensus is that the management of Luck Dog doesn't know enough about dog health to have any idea of what they should & shouldn't be asking for. Both local veterinarians stressed that a dog facility was overdoing it and panicking if a fico float test was a requirement. For a dog that clearly does not have "worms" (that is what the test is for), both vets stressed that this was being driven by fear rather than necessity.
If you are looking for a dependable facility for dog day care, dog wash or dog boarding, this is not the facility for you.

Our dog is young and energetic. He likes to socialize with other dogs, so we board him at Lucky Dog. The dogs have their own kennels at night, but during the day they get to play because Lucky Dog also offers day care services. Rolo comes home pooped, because while we are away, he plays all day! The owner and staff are friendly, and it's nice to leave your dog with people who remember his name! Boarding is $25 a day. With an extra $5/day for walks. We paid for walks the first time we left Rolo, but were informed that we probably didn't need to pay for them because he used up lots of energy playing with the other dogs!

This is a great place to wash your dog. Just show up and they provide a private room with ramp leading up to a tub, a bucket of supplies, towels and a water proof apron so you stay dry. All this for only $10! It's the most economical way to clean your pet. We go there once a month and my dog loves it -- he always gets a few cookies on his way out the door.

We have kind of a neurotic, bossy dog who doesn't always play well with others, but she does really well at Lucky Dog. They have an "old lady" area for dogs who don't want to run around and play hard with the others. The employees are all really sweet and handle the dogs well. The overnight boarding fee is $25, I believe. All-day daycare is around $20.
They also have tubs and grooming supplies you can use to wash your dog, and their rates are great; we only pay $10 to wash our 25 lb blue heeler (larger dogs cost more).
Lucky Dog is open on weekends, but you'd need to call for exact hours.
