I took my cat in to get groomed here and when I picked her up she was covered in wounds. The groomer said she bit herself, which she has never ever done before. I took her to the vet immediately and the vet said they aren't bite marks but probably the groomer clipped the cat with clippers. Now my cat is on antibiotics and covered in wounds. But that's not that bad part...so, I told the groomer I didn't think I should pay him for hurting my cat but he yelled at me until I paid ( I am a 5'5" woman, 5 months pregnant and he's about 250, 45 year old tall man named Tim). So, when I left I called back to talk to his manager and Tim answered the phone and his exact words to me were "You f***ng c**t, eat my a**, come down here right now and I will p**nch you in the face." Then, he hung up on me. The owner is refunding my money and covering my vet bill which I appreciate but it sounds like Tim is there to stay. Oh, the owner did say Tim was "off his meds" so beware :) Cons: I am literally terrfied of this place

This is a professional review site, the intention of which is to supply feedback and provide a formum in which people can communicate with eachother as adults. Attacking another reviewer for their opinions is very childish. Name-calling all but makes anything intelligent that you might actually have to say obsolete. Your words can carry weight without being aggressive and spiteful. I had no real complaints about the environment. My dog came home unhappy, although I do not blame the staff there. I drive to Poulsbo and use Alder Creek Pet Lodge now. It's about my dog, and he seemed happier somewhere else.

I have had issues with aggression, and everyone told me the pinch collar was bad and mean. I found out how mistaken these people are, Steve, the trainer at lucky Dog, was gentle, and very much on spot with every detail. I can take my dog on walks now, without the pulling.... I loved the space, and I loved the self wash area, kudos!!!! Pros: Best training is seattle, hands down Cons: Not enough parking

I was very impressed with the Staff, and how happy they are. I have never seen a cleaner nor better run doggie daycare in Seattle. They offer training, custom art, grooming, daycare, boarding, and I was surprised to find out they offer leashed walks, and trips to the off leash park. These guys offer the total package on quality and service, we felt our dog was part of the family, as soon as we were welcomed in. Pros: Staff, this is the most stable, and highly trained group of handlers, I have ever seen! Cons: I could nt find any

I have never been to Lucky dog but it is very difficult to trust a review when the reviewer had NO IDEA what he/she is talking about. It is a FECAL test you idiot not FICO. I would never consider taking my dog to any facility that does NOT ask for this very important test! I don't want my dog exposed to worms and a facility that asks for them is at least trying to limit the spread of worms. Yes, a dog CAN have worms and pass a FECAL test but at least they are trying. You can NEVER BE SURE THAT YOUR DOG CLEARLY DOESN'T HAVE WORMS! That is what the test shows you and why we do them. Any vet that said they are overreacting needs to re-evaluate why they are in the practice!!!Another person said something about Kennel Cough. A dog can STILL GET KENNEL COUGH EVEN IF VACCINATED. There are hundreds of strains of kennel cough and vaccines are forever changing. Getting the vaccine IS NOT a guarantee that your dog isn't going to get it.Owners, get educated and stop blaming the kennels for your lack of knowledge.As for the soap thing, THAT is VERY sad and for that reason I would sue the groomer. A dog's owner not being told about a cut that obviously needed medical attention is not acceptable either. Especially if it looked like the dog was worked on by the staff. But, remember too, that sometimes animals do get hurt and we as owners don't notice it all the time.

We've dropped off our dog here a couple of times a week for over a year and, after checking out some of the other day care/boarding facilities in the city, I was amazed to see a negative review from anyone (although they also said they continued to bring their dog back for "years.") Lucky Dog is super clean, well-organized and well-run by people who actually know and love dogs. We have also used them to board our dog for up to a week at a time and she comes home happy, healthy and well-loved. The staff has been very open with us about the "Kennel Cough" (once) and any scratches (once) while the dogs were playing (how disorderly of them pooches). I didn't feel at all that their call to me was fear-driven or overly cautious - in fact it was refreshing to have someone else care about my dog as much as I do and want to be up front and attentive. In these days of indoor and outdoor dog parks that feel as though you're letting your dog off to play in the equivalent of a very crowded toilet, I feel safe and secure leaving her at Lucky Dog. Great dog wash facilities, too!

My dog used to enjoy boarding here. Now, he whines and resists getting out of the car when we pull up in front and is upset for days after a stay there. The change coincided with a change in ownership/management in summer 2006 that was not announced to patrons, I only found out about it months after the fact. The staff seems young and impatient to me. My dog suffered an injury here in Oct. 07 that was not reported to me when I picked him up and only came to light after we got him home (a cut that could only have happened while he was at Lucky Dog.) The vet guesses that a kennel door was slammed on his head, and said that it must have bled like crazy and could not have gone unnoticed by staff. I know that accidents happen with active dogs, but am not happy that they weren't upfront with us when we picked him up. We will not be taking our dog back to this place. Rates are cheaper than many, but it's not worth the risk to my dog's health. I'll pay more to have him better taken care of.

Other local boarding facilities do not have the trouble that Lucky Dog does with kennel cough, giardia and other contagious but completely preventable illnesses. In addition, my dog was handed back to me with a deep cut on his eyebrow area, caked with old blood which I didn't notice in his black hair until we got home. The staff at Lucky Dog said nothing to me about it when I picked him up, though my vet said someone had tried to clean it. It should have been stitched but of course, too late. Will NEVER go back there. Their rates are cheaper but at the expense of your dog's health. Dog owners beware!

Lucky Dog is a dog care and dog wash facility which I would avoid. The business has a typical small dog day care/ dog wash facility history...it has been sold at least once that I know of. My dog has gone there for several years, and for the most part they have done a good job both when I've gone for washes and used them for boarding. The bad news is that they are not dependable and have had some difficulties maintaining a facility which is clean and safe for our canine brethren. In July of 2007 about 8 months after they were sold to the current owner/operator, they had a problem with a dog (or dogs?) which gave many of the other dogs staying there "Kennel Cough." The owners/ employees were forthright in discussing this with patrons, however, the operations of the company started going South at this point. The management began complete overkill with "health issues." It got to the point of complete absurdity very quickly, with the management asking a long laundry list of new "tests" and requirements for dogs to stay there. The lousy part was that they changed the rules by the week, asking for "fico float tests" and "immunizations current down to the day." That's all well and good, and better for the dog owners that drop the dogs off there. The terrible part in the management execution of the new 'stepped up' health measures is that if you have an appointment to leave your dog there for the day or night, or for a bath, they turn you away at the door for something new every time you show up. Long story short--I have discussed this issue with other patrons and with two local vets and the consensus is that the management of Luck Dog doesn't know enough about dog health to have any idea of what they should & shouldn't be asking for. Both local veterinarians stressed that a dog facility was overdoing it and panicking if a fico float test was a requirement. For a dog that clearly does not have "worms" (that is what the test is for), both vets stressed that this was being driven by fear rather than necessity. If you are looking for a dependable facility for dog day care, dog wash or dog boarding, this is not the facility for you.
