Walter Jaeger is "The Blonde Balayage Master" in Seattle!!
Believe EVERY SINGLE positive magazine and client review written about him...it is not hype.
I am New to Seattle from New York...suffered three horrible blonde balayage disasters from top Seattle Salons.
In just a brief consultation, I knew that I was with a Pro.
Walter has years of experience and is "cutting edge" current with the latest in Blonding.
He had literally just spent some time with a very well known Professional Consultant from New York and L.A.
reviewing the latest color techniques.
Personally, Walter is warm, friendly and most importantly truly interested in YOUR color needs. He not only LISTENS but truly HEARS what you are saying.
The Salon is lovely and the Staff is very friendly and attentive.
I walked in feeling terrible about the way I looked and walked out feeling Beautiful!
Pros: CUTTING EDGE, PROFESSIONAL, WARM, INVITING SALON
Cons: NONE COME TO MIND

I scheduled a last minute haircut with Joevir, right before my move to NYC. My hair was well below my waist and I wanted to cut 10 inches to donate to the Locks of Love and to feel lighter for the summer. I was very impressed with Joevir's excellent hair cutting technique, his ability to choose the most up-to-date style for me and still kept my hair long. I was expecting to go in for 30 minutes to get my 10 inches cut off, styled, and go home. Instead Joevir cut 12”! I was getting a little nervous but soon he washed my hair and gave me a wonderful head massage (I have never had a hairstylist do that before). Next, he started styling and I was even more nervous as I kept seeing more hair come off. Then out of nowhere he comes back with this concoction and starts adding it into my hair and wrapping foil around it. By this time I was so, so nervous and scared that I would look like some kind of a zebra (I have never colored or highlighted my hair before). When it was time to wash off the goo… yes yet again another wonderful head massage. Joevir then dried and styled it and now it was time to look in the mirror. It was AMAZING! It felt light and looked so much more alive! I couldn’t stop bragging to all my friends and even in NYC I have gotten complements on it. Thank you Joevir for such a wonderful haircut experience and a pleasant conversation. For those of you who are considering getting your cut and style by Joevir Morada I would suggest knowing somewhat what you want but also allowing him to “experiment”. He does a great job listening to what you want but at the same time he can see in his mind what hairdo you will look exceptionally great in.

My Mom got me a gift certificate for a Habitude Hot Stone Massage. It was wonderful! I enjoyed the use of the sauna and the big mug of Aveda tea. The fresh almonds in the relaxation room were also a nice touch. My massage therapist got me from the sauna and let me customize my own essential oils for the massage.
All in all, great experience. I would definitely go back!

Queena at Spa Nordstrom gave me the BEST deep-tissue massage I have EVER had!!!
I am a fan of deep-tissue but in all my years in Seattle have not found a decent one until Queena. She specializes in deep-tissue, and is also the most pleasant person you will ever meet! I HIGHLY recommend her for any aches/pains you may have--I feel FABULOUS! Will definitely make a massage by her part of my routine.

Cicada bridal is wonderful. I am a former Seattlite now living in Utah. After looking through all of the shops in Salt Lake City, I could not find a single wedding dress I liked. On a trip to Seattle, I stopped in at Cicada and found the perfect dress style--the Lucy. The dress was exactly what I imagined for my wedding dress. It was elegant and simple. Since the floor version was too short, I ordered a customized version of the Lucy dress. Elizabeth did an amazing job. I only needed one fitting on a second trip to Seattle and with a few minor alterations, I received my dress in the mail just a few months later. It fit perfectly and looked fabulous. I received so many complements on the dress at my wedding. When I was in for the fitting, the service was excellent. Elizabeth answered all of my questions about the dress and helped me pick out the perfect jewelry to go with it. My best guy friend came with me to the fitting and was so impressed with the dress, the service, and the shop in general. In a nutshell, cicada dresses are unique, elegant, and beautifully made. The service is excellent. And, they saved me from having to settle for a big, poofy, frilly, not-my style wedding dress. I'll definitely be back for more cicada--not for another wedding dress, but for their great selection of party dresses.

I have received several services at the Northgate Gene Juarez. There is no doubt that this is a pricey place but the adage is true-you get what you pay for. They just remodeled the Northgate Salon and the colors are beautiful. You are whisked away to the spa area when you receive any services. The massage is calming and just right and the shower afterward is great.

I have had many mediocre or disappointing results with color and hair, never finding the right fit throughout the years. I finally went to see Amanda on a recommendation of a good friend after I noticed a change in her hairstyle and commenting on how good it looked.
I have never looked back! Amanda was able to cut, color and style my hair so beautifully. The color, especially was masterfully done to bring out my features. I have never received so many compliments and requests on who cuts my hair. I wish I had found her sooner! It's now been a few years. Even when I can't get to her for a few weeks, my hair still looks great even after it has long outgrown the cut. I take this to be a sign of a good stylist and good choice of cut. Even the way she colors is forgiving when it grows out and I'm not able to get to the salon.
Pros: passionate about color

I've gotten my ears pierced at the mall at Piercing pagoda several times: when I was a child for my lobes, cartilage and eventually added more to my lobe. So I've had SOME type of experiences with piercings. One of my best friends got her lip pierced in high school and since then I've thought it was really cool, but always wondered about the pain. She went to Top Tattoo in Shoreline/edmonds area and said it was really good and clean. I ended up going to Deep Roots from rumors that it had been a great shop. I finally decided to get my lip pierced and Deep Roots on the AVE seemed to call out to me. I go to the UW so I've walked by about a trillion times and have peeped in to ask questions. Walking in was an experience in itself; the lobby looked like a gallery. The jewelry was nicely displayed in cases and it was well lit (which is a personal thing of mine--liking well lit places). The two people at the counter were very welcoming and my piercer whose name was Nicole (like mine w/o the 'h') was very very friendly! Highly recommend her service! I was pretty nervous at first and hard time deciding on jewelry. In the midst of my first jewel being sterilized I changed my mind. Graciously she said to me "Honey that's fine! This is going to be on your face and I want you to be happy with it!" Right then and there I knew I'd come to the right place. From the cleanliness of the parlor itself, the cleanliness of the utensils used, the cleanliness of the piercing artist, and to the great customer service .. It was AWESOME! The piercing itself didn't hurt more than a mere pinch. I personally believe that this is the best piercing parlor in Seattle.

As relaxing as a massage or pedicure might be (not that those aren't great too) there's something to be said for having a spa experience that isn't over until you want it to be over. Between the hot rooms, the pools (cold, tepid salt, and jacuzzi) and the delicious teas I could make a whole day out of it. The borscht manhattan next door at Venik is a tasty apres treat. But, be warned, one's tolerance may be considerably lower after spending several hours in temperatures well above 100 degrees.
Pros: very clean, despite all the sweaty people
Cons: I wish I could have it all to myself
