UW Medical Clinic on Roosevelt has several great pediatricians working out of it, with whom you can't go wrong. Also, the nurses there are all top notch - fun, qualified, warm, very nice people who make unfun things like shots for kids and filling out forms all feel like no problem.
We use Christine Caldwell and have very much enjoyed her upbeat demeanor and warm personality. Recently, we had to take our daughter to meet with another of the doctor's in the practice there, and he was very solid. Overall, a great clinic and you can't go wrong with whichever doctor you choose for your family and pediatrician medicine needs.

Whether you just need good quality routine prenatal care, or have to deal with a high-risk pregnancy with complications, the doctors in the UW Medical Center's Obstetrics and Gynecology department are at the top of their class. When they're not taking care of patient, they are doing world-class research. It's comforting to know they are up on all the latest (as well as having an excellent grasp of the basic, it goes without saying).

The midwives at UW are wonderful and supportive, and you have the peace of mind of knowing that the most advanced medical technology is right next door. The midwives clinic is located within the UW high-risk clinic, so you really have the best of both worlds. While it is a practice, so you aren't guaranteed one particular midwife at your birth, they are all great.

UWMC is a huge complex so this is just a review on their childbirth prep classes. The classes are informative, but quite large. This is not an intimate place where you will have all of your questions answers. However, the lactation classes are amazing, with one of the best teachers I've had for any subject.

Our twins were born at 32 wks. (thankfully very healthy) so they were in the NICU for 3 weeks to grow and learn to eat. So many babies in the NICU are disadvantaged, being born to drug addicted mothers or women not taking care of themselves. I was absolutely heartbroken by the lack of visitors most of these babies had.
This led us to donate many of Margaret & Henry's baby clothes and toys to the NICU. I'm not sure of their needs, and don't know if what you have to donate would be age appropriate, but if you're interested, you could give them a call. The main number to the Division of Neonatology is 206.543.3200.
