This place is amazing. I went in for the first time, the staff was awesome, everyone was great, and most importantly my hair looked amazing afterwards. I've also sent a few of my friends to Ivan. I told him I wanted to grow my hair out, and I would trust his judgement- I loved what he did. Ivan is funny, and very skilled. He asked me if I wanted my highlights to "whisper, talk or scream," I'm sorry that is the best line ever! He also used color to highlight my hair instead of bleach, which was great, because it's better for your hair anyway. I highly recommend him, I will never go anywhere else! Pros: Awesome location, price, stylist Cons: none

Just wanted to echo what everyone else is saying here. I moved up from California and spent a year trying to find a regular hair place. This is it!. I've been seeing Ken for two or three years now and he knows what he's doing. I also had a cut from the owner when Ken wasn't available, and he rocked as well. Their prices are great; spend the extra ten bucks and go here instead of Supercuts. Pros: Price, Attitude, Skill Cons: Parking

I am SOOO glad I found this place - the atmosphere is great (pool table and big screen tv and couches in the waiting area), the staff is all super friendly, the prices are super low, and the stylist was FANTASTIC. I went in to see Joey and since I'm the type of person who thinks hair dressers know more than me about what colors/cuts go with my skin tone/face shape/hair texture, etc. I left it completely up to her. She was so creative and I LOVE what she did for both the cut and the color. I have a new look that was way overdue! I would recommend this place to everyone! Pros: Stylist skills, Low Prices, Ambience, Open 7 days a week including evenings Cons: Parking

Funky, fun, salon in capitol hill that has reasonable prices. Desiree did highlights and a cut for me and I was really pleased with how the cut turned out. The highlights were done well too, but I'd try a different shade next time. Long hair cut was only $40 and with hightlights and tip I got out for under $150--which is hard to do with long hair.

I just finished my third haircut at Zero Zero and I think I'm going to become a regular! My first cut was with Ken and he managed to reduce the volume of my curly hair, add in a little style and layers, and I left with a great cut -- all for under $40. My second cut with Amara was also good -- she crafted finger curls and I left with a different look than I usually do. As I settled into my scrunch and go ways, I sadly realized the cut was still too long and needed more layers. (Amara is great, though!) I called the salon to see if they could take additional length off and they offered to get me in immediately, with three options within the next three hours if it would work for me. They guarantee satisfaction, so up front they said there would be no charge. I ran a little late as I looked for street parking and was about 15 minutes late. No snarkiness, no issue. The owner himself came down and cut my hair and added the additional layers I need for my low maintenance lifestyle. I love it! The salon itself is conveniently located - walking distance from downtown, just on Summit between Pike and Pine. The vibe inside is relaxed and alternative, but don't let the tattoos and blue hair fool you. This is a class act salon with high standards for customer satisfaction, salon efficiency, and real hair cutting. If you want wine and cheese, you may leave disappointed. But you'll have enough money left in your wallet for a nice bottle at home, and they don't skimp on the scalp massage and customer treatment. They are open evening and weekend hours which are also very convenient. Thanks for the great treatment and commitment to nice hair. You've gained an evangelical fan in me.

I recently went to Zero Zero to have my hair cut and colored, and was in desperate need of a change. Julea listened to my ideas, took the fact that I was open about what we did, and ran with it. I have NEVER been so happy with my hair, or with a salon experience. Laid-back atmosphere, no bitchiness (at least, none that isn't fun), great prices, and a fantastic new look. I looked hard for a place to go that I would feel comfortable, since I knew the general fussiness at some salons would just make me uncomfortable, and this place was perfect. Pros: Good music, great service, great results. Cons: None.
