I already had a few tattoos from other shops but was skeptical and patient in waiting to find the right shop to do a very creative and special sleeve. I had yet to see any work at any shop that showed they could capture what I was looking for. I was referred to Slave to the Needle.
Still skeptical, I checked out their work and was intrigued by Andrea's portfolio. After an initial consultation with her, a second appointment to check out the drawing, and finally getting the tattoo...it was PERFECT! I waited months to get in and spent a large chunk of money on this tattoo but it was well worth every cent I spent and every day I waited.
Since then I've gotten a handful of piercings and a few more tattoos by multiple artists at Slave to the Needle. This is absolutely the ONLY shop I trust to do my work! The staff is beyond friendly, the artistry is top-notch, the prices are reasonable....what more could you ask for???
Pros: Top-Notch Artists, Friendly Staff, Reasonable Prices
Cons: None....seriously NONE

So far I have been tattooed by 2 artists at the Wallingford location and pierced at the Ballard shop. I have had nothing but stellar service and always left more than happy with my tattoo/piercing results.
Robert and Marc have both given me fabulous body art.... including a huge back-piece and some smaller pieces. I constantly am stopped by strangers and asked where I got the amazing ink. Thanks guys... you ROCK!
I have no idea where these other reviewers with the negative attitudes are coming from, but I have always seen other clients treated in nothing but a positive, friendly manner. Deposits are mandatory at all other tattoo shops I have encountered, so this is nothing "strange" or out of the ordinary. It covers the artists's time spent creating a piece of art for you.
As for the quality of artwork and passion of the artists... well... the portfolios, awards, and clean atmosphere speaks for itself.
I am looking forward to getting inked by some other artists there! I'm a return customer for sure!
Pros: Kick-aXX tattoos, friendly staff
Cons: cons? There ARE no cons...

I am a stickler for my money being my money, and these bastards stole my $100 deposit. They are swindlers, do not trust them.
Pros: Great looking tattoo...
Cons: Stole my $100 deposit!

My daughter had her tregus re-pierced and her nose pierced at Slave. The guy was knowledgeable and immaculately clean. I am working with one of the artists to cover a tattoo I have. It's a timely process as they are very busy...but there's a reason they're so busy...they're good! I'll let you know how the tattoo turns out in December.

I had the best experience here, the place was super clean and the staff treated me like we were old friends. My tattoo is beautiful too and healed up perfectly. I could not have asked for a better experience. I recommend this place to everyone who stops me to ask where I get my work done. I'll be going back for more work.

OH MY GOD! I can't be in Seattle! Slave to the Needle must have been picked up by a tornado and brought here from the island of misfit, miserable toys. I am trying to remember if I've ever had a worse experience with anyone in any service business. I think Slave is the worstest. My tattoo "artist" must have had he day off from filming Dawn of the Dead XVI. But he was still in-character and about as artistic as Charlie Brown. I have two tattoos from Adorn in Portland (Love Adorn!!). There they asked me to send in my tattoo images by email and when I arrived my artist (Jesse rocks!) had been thinking about the design and had done some sketching and had some great ideas - very creative and artistic - as you should expect from a good tattoo artist. You won't get that at Slave. I can't imagine worse service. You'd be better off just walking in off the street anywhere else.
Pros: Zero
Cons: Worlds worst service

If you're thinking about new ink, Slave is the perfect place to go. A very clean facility, and very experienced artists.
I would and do recommend Slave to anyone asking me about getting a tattoo.

I got my first tattoo this last summer at the Wallingford shop from Ed Lott. I live in Houston, Texas and Ed worked with me online to get my artwork for the portrait of my dog just right. My tattoo took over 4 hours, and even though Ed is not much of a conversationalist (he really gets into his work) I had such a great experience. My tattoo is so incredible and Ed is truly a great portrait artist! He is very thorough about getting every detail right and is great at explaining the importance of aftercare. I never had a problem with my tattoo and it has healed beautifully and looks so beautiful. I honestly get compliments on my tattoo on a daily basis and some of the comments have been "that's the best tattoo I have ever seen"! I want to get another tattoo already and I know that I will be returning to Slave to the Needle and have Ed do my next one! Everyone there from the receptionist to the other artists were really nice and make you feel comfortable.
Pros: Great Artistry, Friendly Customer Oriented, Clean, Worth every Penny!
Cons: No Parking at the Wallingford shop
