After buying our house, we asked the builder where we should buy paint. They recommended Seattle Paint Supply because that is where most contractors around town buy theirs. Home Depot/Lowes is extremely frowned upon because their products just don't last over time. This also applies for deck sealers, etc. Another perk is that the staff there really know about paint, and will help you select the products/supplies that are just right for you. There are many Seattle Paint Supply locations all over town, so I'm sure there is one in your area!

If you're in need of it, they probably stock it. From nails, garden supplies, coax splitters, fans, heaters, telephone cable, etc. they have it all. I'm always amazed at how much inventory they get in a fairly small store.
Also, the folks working there are very knowlegdable and nice.
The perfect neighborhood hardware store.

Excellent store. Carries project essentials, of course. But it also has fiar prices on bigger items. And best of all, it has the staff, the mythical neighborhood hardware store staff who know everything. They really do.
Save yourself a trip to the big box stores.

Robin Daly has twice (two different houses) given me great advice on paint colors in my house, including taking me in colorful directions I would never have otherwise considered. Staff at the store are helpful, take the time to make sure you've got it right. Great place for getting the advice and supplies to transform your home.

They are always very helpful everytime I come in. They don't make you feel bad if you don't know how to do something they just help you along with your project. Whenever, I need to fix something I go over there and talk to them first to get an idea of what to do before I call a professional.
They also have some cool hard to find items such as dutch ovens and other pots and pans. The store itself is kind of small especially compared to the Home Depot but the staff is more readly available. Plus I like to support the little guy.

I've recently found the wide selection of quality paint available at the Rodda store on Stone Way in Wallingford. Typically, I'm the only home-owner in the store filled with painting contractors, but I'm treated with respect and good humor regardless of the small size of my purchase. The price at Rodda is amazingly low for the quality of the paint. Also, I appreciate the assistance from the experienced staff in the store.
