I've taken my things to Diane's from a coat alteration to jeans. I forget how much they charged me for the coat (maybe $26 or something?) but pants hemming is just $10 plus tax.
They would first tell you the date it will be done (usually about a week), but if you ask them if they could rush it a bit and have something by certain date (I did this once when I was going on a trip the following week), they will work with you.
I've been satisfied with their work thus far, and they have dressing rooms, so you can take the shoes you'll wear with the dress and have them pin it to match the height.
P.S. They also have a person doing alterations at Village Cleaners in the U Village Mall, and I know she does formal dress alterations as well. The turnaround time may be slower, however. They said she's busy because it's wedding season. She's only there M-Th.

I have taken my cats to Dr. Romatowski for years and would never go anywhere else if I can help it. He nursed one cat (and me) through a long illness with humor and compassion. His staff is equally great. Even my cat who won't let anyone touch her (including me) lets him handle her without freaking out. I swear he's a "cat whisperer"!

I love this place...Easy to find. Tracy works wonders with my hair....She really listens to what I am looking for and gives me great looks!!! I have weavy hair that has a mind of it's own and she always tames it.I am never disappointed with how my hair looks..

Hard to get all excited about a dry cleaner, but I have to crow for these guys. As Rich puts it in his review, they have been in the same location for 15+ years and are part of the community. (The owners live in the next block.)
We have taken dry cleaning and shirts to them for as long as they have been there and they never let us down. Recently I took a seat cover to them that had a nail polish stain out and they got it out completely (I had tried the usual home methods to no avail).
Jay and Kathy own it; Kathy runs it and does the alterations. She does excellent work and the price is fair (if a bit steep - you get what you pay for).

They were fabulous when I took my dogs there on my honeymoon last year. They were very patient when I was psycho and called and checked on them many times! They prefer that in fact to someone who doesn't really care about how their dogs are doing. In fact, when my dog got sick there, they did everything they could to take care of him while we were on our honeymoon.

Rats are clever and persistant. If you're going to get them out of your house and keep them out, you have to do all the work Redi National recommends, especially to find and close up entry points. Redi trapped five rats in our house in short order. That was two years ago. We've not had another rat in the house. The bait boxes show lots of activity -- there are plenty of wild rats ready to move in if we let down our guard. The techs have been great: polite, punctual, and effective.

After I moved to West Seattle from California, I started bringing my two cats here on a coupon. We have seen most of the vets here, but in particular Dr. Johnson and Dr. Quincy. They are gentle and thorough and always take time to answer questions, explain options and treatments, and I have found them helpful in giving price estimates for planning out my cats' health care. Staff are caring too. They have people that come in for some specialized things like ultrasounds and cardiology, and refer out for more complex operations. I finally lost my two old kitties, and one of them I had put to sleep here. They were very compassionate, explained everything, and gave us plenty of time alone to say goodbye. They have also been very helpful assessing and treating my new shelter & rescue kitties who all had different problems when they came to me. Once or twice I have felt an individual missed something or I disagreed with a charge, but this has been more than compensated for by their long-term competence, caring and flexibility. If your medications are not time-urgent, check whether you can buy from Amazon, or even Costco or a drugstore, as most vets are pricier to buy medication from. If $ is not an issue and convenience is, buy here and help support the great vets, staff, and nice facilities, all of which cost $! The prices are very expensive because the owner doesn't know squat about their actual value. The fish are really big and the store is easy to find, it is on Jackson and has a bright sign.
