We decided sort of last minute to go ahead and have some maternity photos taken when I was 35 weeks pregnant. Both my husband and I really wanted to do some non-traditional shots that reflected our personalities. We're outdoorsy but urban, goofy with a modern asthetic. We met Renata at the Olympic Sculpture park early on a Saturday morning and had a great time! The photos are fantastic and we have received so many compliments on them. Many people have said "I don't usually like maternity photos, but yours are fantastic!"
Renata is so easy to be around and takes the awkwardness out of getting your photo taken.

Hiring a photographer was the best decision we made during our planning process for our wedding. At first we were a little hesitant about it, but now after it is all said and done, it was the best money we spent. Not only was Charis so FUN to be around and work with, she took the most beautiful, original photos I've ever seen. They captured everything about the day that I wanted. And she knew how to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera as well. I feel so lucky to have found her to do our wedding photos. It was a perfect experience and now I have absolutely beautiful photographs to remember my wedding day forever!! I would recommend her to anyone, especially if they appreciate the artistic side of photography.

40 bowling lanes, an area for a private bowling party, restaurant and good times can all be found here. It has been a non smoking establishment before it was the law so it really does smell good in there. Just east of Southcenter, south of I-405.

The people at NE Veterinary are amazing. My dog developed a spine problem several months ago and Dr. Amy Ward did everything she could to help her get better. When she got too ill to walk or stand anymore, Dr. Ward came to my house on a Friday night so she could die in peace at home instead of in the office. When it was all over she, gave me a big hug. How many vets would do that? I highly recommend NE Veterinary and Dr. Ward.

No costume venture is complete without a trip to Display & Costume. I think they have a rental department, but they mostly cater to people like me who enjoy cobbling together their own costumes from various parts. They most recently saved my butt this past New Year's Eve by carrying fake Uzis. (I attended a James Bond-themed party.) The toy guns looked real enough that only minor modifications had to be made. Best of all, the Uzis have an awesome rat-a-tat sound effect. (NOTE: Toys R Us and other toy stores do not carry any guns other than Nerf or "ray gun"-type guns anymore because kids apparently get shot up by cops that think they are carrying real guns. Also, there's some issue with morals and teaching kids that guns are bad or something like that...)
Display & Costume is definitely a one-stop shop and prices reflect that. Some things are cheap (fake Uzis) and others are not (fabric). They have a section in the back where you can buy fabric and assorted ribbons and other fabric novelties. Mostly, the store is a haven of accessories for almost any costume you can dream up. They also carry party supplies, including more unusual items like fake palm trees for your luau-themed parties. At Christmas, they have a whole room of elaborate Christmas decorations. Perhaps best of all, the store is located near the Northgate Mall, Pacific Fabrics, and Target, so you can always stop in at those other stores if you don't find everything you need!

I had to have my Mother of the Bride dress altered and my son needed his groomsmen pants shortened. Jenny did this quickly & efficiently. This was my first time at having alterations done, so I don't know much about the pricing. I figure that the 'old' saying, "You get what you pay for", works in this case and I feel as though I got a GREAT deal!! Jenny did a fantastic job at a reasonable price (especially since I had beading on my dress). I will use Jenny for any alteration needs in the future and I'm so very happy I 'found' her!

I am so glad my Target card came today, Friday, December 22. I think it was so nice fo them to order the cards before Christmas and give us a chance to use them. Thus, I will be using mine tomorrow (Sat). Judy's Book continues to impress me and to try and get and KEEP new members. They seem to realize their mistakes and correct them or either not make them in the first place. I am grateful for the card. 15 reviews are not that bad, and they usually go fast if you are in a writing mood. Thank you again, Judy's Book!

When sitting for our family photos, he provided such a warm and welcoming atmosphere in his home studio that we felt completely comfortable being ourselves. I've been going to Greenlake Animal Hospital for a long time (about 15 years) and I've always had good experiences. It's worth going to see them and since they have multiple veterinarians at the office you have a choice as to who you see. Lately I've been specifically asking for Dr. Mortimer as he has helped in some major cases with our pets and I know he's getting to know their personal histories, which I really like. I take both cats and dogs to see them and have yet to find a reason to do otherwise.

I'm in a creative profession and have always been the creative type...but for some reason could not translate that into my wardrobe style. I knew that while I could understand design in multiple mediums, clothing was not one of them. Darcy helped me translate my taste in art and interiors into a style that could be expressed with clothes - a huge leap for me.
By defining this style and showing me examples (and working with existing pieces), I feel much better about the shopping experience now - something I used to hate. I realize now that without this clarity, you're set loose in a sea of merchandising all vying for you attention and it's easy to get overwhelmed and end up with something that is not 'you'.
So thanks Darcy, for being part therapist, philosopher, diva, fashionista and intelligent business woman who was able to put it all together for me.
Problem solved.
