They have tons of parking, a great indoor shop full of gardening goodies plus some trinkety stuff (although a lot of that is cheap), a lovely indoor plant section and a giant selection of annuals and perennials all under a greenhouse cover so you don't have to bake in the sun -- nice during hot days like last week. I think their supply is better than the aforementioned nursery even plus the staff is very friendly. Perhaps they deal with a less snooty clientle. Oh, you can also buy bulk gardening materials there. If you pick up only $26 for a yard of Cedar grove compost! (I think that is less than half price for bagged.)
So it's Sky for me.
All that being said, Swanson's has that lovely indoor shop with the little cafe and their bags of materials are located in the parking lot -- easier to load.
Ah gardening season. (-:

I conctantly stop by at Sky nersery now to pick up new plants and whatever I need for my garden, sometimes just for touring it for fun. It is a fun place to go and browse. Their staff are knowleadgeable and freindly. You can get information sheet on different plants, vegetables and trees, which can save your time on doing research by yourself. Plenty of parking space and easy to access. They have coupons posted on their website and you can download and use them. Have fun!

this is a wonderful nursery at the north end of seattle on Aurora. Trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, bulk materials (compost, bark, playchips, manure, etc.), pots of every size and shape. They have a very knowledgeable staff who can help you with every plant problem or need. To amuse you and the kiddies, there is a koi pond. It seems almost every weekend, they have other experts giving seminars or classes on everything from ikebana to orchids. An absolute class A nursery. Check it out!

Sky Nursery has a good selection of native plants. If this is important to you, I would suggest checking it out. They sell a variety of plants, garden materials, pond supplies as well as bird feeders and houses. Sky is probably a bit more expensive than a chain store, but you won't find the quality and knowledge that you get at Sky.

I really like Sky Nursery. It's way up Aurora, but worth the drive for their selection of plants, gardening supplies, and the knowledgeable staff. If you get on their physical mailing list, they send out a great newsletter, often with coupons.
They also have handy free information sheets on how to care for the different types of plants that they carry. If you're looking for native plants, they have a great selection.

Sky Nursery is a great place for the gardener whether you are a novice or a champion gardener. they are north of the North Seattle Fred Meyer's on Highway 99 or Aurora Avenue as it is also known.
There is always plenty of parking even on a busy, sunny Saturday in spring.
The staff knows everything about what kind of plants to get for the effect you are trying to achieve. They have a great variety to choose from for plants, trees, flowers, and shrubs. They also have some neat decorative accents for your yard and home.

I will go out of my way to go to Sky Nursery whenever I need anything for my garden.
They've got an eye-popping variety of plants and garden supplies. The plants are always healthy & even the annuals I've bought have lived way longer than the ones from other nurseries. I bought a fuscia from them about 5 years ago, and it still blooms every spring.
The staff is a great resource, and I've learned a lot by talking to them. As another reviewer said, they're especially good about recommending plants for the particular conditions / location you're trying to work with.

Sky Nursery is located in North Seattle and carries a large variety of annuals, perennials, houseplants, seeds, bulbs, landscaping materials, books, fertilizers, and gardening hardware. You can have things delivered and it is a great place to go to get your gardening questions answered. The staff is friendly and informed. It’s a fun place to go to get new ideas for indoors and out. It seems reasonably priced and has a decent selection of organic soils, fertilizers, and organic pesticides. You ought to be able to find just about anything you need there, although the location and ambience aren't the best of all the nurseries in Seattle.

Sky has a great selection of groundcovers and perennials. The annual sale (called "Customer Appreciation Day") in June is of good value in which things are either 25% or 40% off. They also carry a lot of gardening accessories including some hard-to-find fertizers and soil amendments.
A recently added new parking lot alleviate the parking hassle I experienced before.

I have found the employees at Sky Nursery to be very helpful when I needed advice about which plants would thrive in which conditions. Also, they have an information booth where you can ask specific questions about your garden. You can bring in a sample of flora or fauna for identification.
