In 19 yrs. of life I haven't experienced much yet. But I can honestly say that the best doctor I have ever met would have to be the one I laid my baby eyes on. Dr. Spector is kind,meaningful and I love being around him. He makes all his patients feel welcome and cared for. He has the best bed side manner and He is there when ever he is needed. I suggest him to anyone and everyone meet who are about to have a child. They will love to be his paitent...I know I have....and I am sad that my years with him as my pediatrition is almost over. I cannot recommend Wallingford Pediatrics and Dr. David Springer highly enough. I have seen him with both of my children since they were born. I find great comfort in his experience and his gentle, non-invasive approach. I have many friends who leave their pediatricians offices feeling anxious and usually with prescriptions or referrals to specialists. I walk out of this office feeling comfortable and confident that my children were given a thorough exam by the eyes of experience. Dr. Springer knows, in the first moments of looking at my children, exactly what is wrong (or more often, NOT wrong) with them. He has seen enough well and sick children to know when more testing is needed, and when nature needs to take it's course. I really appreciate that neither of my children have ever been prescribed antibiotics and more conservative applications of simple home remedies have been offered. We have had one health issue which required a more advanced approach and it was given with a calmness that kept my mama-panic in check. His bedside manner is gentle and directed to the children, even as small babies, so that they feel he is THEIR doctor and that he is paying attention to their needs. We have also had good experiences with Betsy, the Nurse-Practitioner. The atmosphere of the clinic is friendly and relaxed and I never feel judged for my parenting choices. Whether breast or bottle feeding, immunizing or not, co-sleeping or crib-sleeping, they will both offer their medical advice without a moral agenda getting in the way. If you are looking for a pediatric office where you can feel like you're going to the country doctor, and at the same time trust that modern techniques and close at hand, this is the place for you.

I love this practice! Dr. McMahon is a straight-shooter who takes time with us and answers all our questions without making us feel silly (yet letting us know when we are over-the-top on our concerns!). The office is clean, well-run and I always get to see Dr. McMahon at the appointed time--what a gift!

Dr. Graunke was the key doctor who led to the diagnosis of our daughter who has ADA SCIDS (Severe Complex Immune Deficiency or Bubble Boy Disease). After some slight abnormalities in our daughter’s vitals, she sent us to Children’s Hospital ER for additional tests where she was diagnosed. So many doctors are amazed that our daughter was diagnosed infection free which is almost unheard of for her condition, but it was Dr. Graunke’s diligence that first identified that something was wrong. As new parents, she was very encouraging to us and never made us feel like we were hypochondriacs. She always made time in her schedule to see our baby and continued to follow our daughter’s progress through treatment.

I have had the absolute best experience with Dr. Ann Bridges at the Polyclinic. She was referred to me by some friends for my pregnancy and I have kept going back to her because of her level of professionalism. She is very thorough, honest and really cares about her patients. During my pregnancy, she kept me well-informed about what was going on, what to expect and offered lots of advice. I was really impressed by how many home remedies or over-the counter medicines she suggested. It made me confident that when she did need to write a prescription it was because I needed it, not because she was being backed by pharmeucutical companies. The staff at the Polyclinic are great as well. They can almost always accomodate your schedule, the nurses call back in a timely manner and the lobby is always warm and inviting.

Dr. Thomas Numrych has proven to be a wonderful pediatrician for both of our children. He fuses both personability with a strong medical background. He has, countless times, been willing to take a little extra time with us to discuss issues we are concerned with.
The clinic as a whole is quite responsive as well.

My wife and I have been taking our 19 month old son to Dr. Schuette from the beginning. She is so gentle with him... even with all of the shots and prodding. He'll cry and then smile at her! She is so patient with us and will stay to answer all of our questions even if we're stupid first-time parents. She even comes on her scheduled days off for follow-up appointments with him.
Now that our second child, a daughter, will be born in the next few days, there is no question that she will also be a patient in this great practice.

Drs Schuette & Bowe are wonderful with children & parents - I HIGHLY recommend them.
One word of caution - avoid Dr. Spector - he makes extremely inappropriate comments to girls & women - I think it is his attempt at humor, but very disturbing on so many levels.
