I go to Paulette at Gene Juarez for the best, quickest and least painful bikini wax in the city. It is an extremely relaxing atmosphere with soothing music and aromas, as well a clinical-looking room that makes you feel like everything is clean and sterile. At 77 dollars a pop, though, it's a hefty chunk of change, but I find that it is worth it.
I have also received the Spa Manicure here a few times and been very impressed with the service. The massage and paraffin treatments left me relaxed and smooth and they now use my favorite polish, Essie.

I have been to the downtown Gene Juarez more than one for a haircut. Apparently I am a slow learner. I have never had a good haircut at this salon. I have tried several stylists, each one seems deaf to what I tell her I want done to my hair. Shoulder length does not mean cut up to my chin! Not only are the haircuts poor, but the prices are high and parking is expensive and challenging. My advise, skip Gene Juarez!

Since becoming a mom last year, manicures, pedicures and hair cuts are almost impossible to get anymore. For my birthday, I was given a gift certificate to Gene Juarez and I decided to get the Spa Pedicure. As far as pedicures go - it was AMAZING. After being taken into a private room - you can change into a super comfy robe and slippers. Relaxing music in the back ground, beautiful scents in the air. This is the first pedicure I have had where you lay down during it. They give you a quick head a neck massage - cover your eyes, and then give you an unbelievable pedicure.
The one downside - you do get what you pay for. This great massage will run you a minimum of $63 (not including tip). But, for a special treat or a gift for someone else - it is worth every penny!
