This is a good place for a decent manicure and/or pedicure. For me it was a bit like getting your oil changed. It was professional, bare basics, get the job done with no frills. This is a "spa" experience, but then you're not paying spa prices. Staff is friendly and skilled. The massage chair for the pedicure is pretty fantastic and might be one of the best features. I would go back when looking for a quick, get the job done mani-pedi.

if customer service is what you are looking for, like a polite acknowledgment or pleasant demeanor, you will simply not find it here. If you are looking to get a fair (very comparable to other places in Seattle that do the same thing for the same price) mani/pedi for $30, in a fairly clean nail salon, then this place suffices. My last experience there was having a 20 year boy tell me that although the sign on the door says that they close at 6pm on a Sunday, they are deciding to close early and would therefore not give my mother a manicure. I think he was especially rude when I politely asked for the service to be performed by one of the ladies working there. the fact that him and his homey swirling around in their chairs and were abrasive and nonchalant simply did not entice me to have him give my mother a half decent manicure. I am not sure if I would patron again, let alone recommend it wholeheartly...then again, you get what you pay for?

I found #1 Pro Nails via this site (thanks everyone for your reviews) and had a great experience two weeks ago. I'm heading in again today.
I used to get a Mani/Pedi every week when I lived in NYC ($21!).
In Kelowna, BC where I most recently lived I paid $45 for a less-than-lovely manicure. It's great to find a clean & friendly salon whose techs do a decent job for a good price.
$30 for a Mani/Pedi - I love it.

i went to pro nails on roy st. a few days ago and i must say that i have not been this happy w/a manicure in years. they were all nice, very professional, easy parking, etc. but thuy gave me SUCH a good mani/pedi - the pedi looks like i just had it done (i was there 4 days ago) and the mani still looks almost perfect. but more importantly, whenever i get my nails done i ask them not to cut my cuticles and 9 out of 10 times, they do it anyway (really pisses me off). thuy didn't cut them, she just pushed them. and when she wanted to get the little pieces of cuticle that were sticking up, she asked before she even touched them. i'd return to her in a sec.
it's too bad that the pro nails on top of queen anne isn't nearly as good - the woman there cut every one of my cuticles and cut them so low that it was painful while she was doing it. i guess the lower queen anne Pro Nails got the good staff.

Anne at #1 Pro Nails is a sweet gal and can give a killer manicure and spa pedicure. It's not a complete spa, but for sure a good place for nails. The women who work there are inviting and friendly and have fun while they work. For manicure/pedicure it's $30 and plan to spend an hour to an hour and a half there being pampered. Call ahead for an appointment as they fill up fast after 3pm every day.

I love this place - although not as luxurious as Frenchys, it's also not nearly as expensive, and do you really need an easy chair to get a pedicure? The Pro Nails staff is lovely, the quality of service is excellent, and the price is right. They just moved from the top of Queen Anne to the bottom, and are totally worth following to their new location.
