I went to this store to pick up some new strings for a friend's guitar who was having a birthday (the friend, not the guitar). I didn't know which ones to get, so the staffmember spent 45 minutes with me picking them out and promised me I could return them if I got the wrong ones. I will definitely return. more

They're more than just violins 8/21/2005

Don’t let the name fool you. Bischofberger Violins Ltd is about way more than violins. They branch out into the other stringed instruments. I brought my guitar there once and they were very nice and tuned it for free. They then offered me a wonderful deal on an electric tuner and gave me some general guitar-playing tips. more

Violin specialists. 8/18/2005

Bischofberger Violins is located in Capitol Hill on the corner of E John st and. This store features new and used violins for purchase or rental (also does restoration and appraisals). I have played violin for over 10 years and when I moved to Seattle without mine I decided to look for a store where I could rent one. Bischofberger's rental violins are well maintained and rental bows are of reasonable quality. They also sell violins, bows, strings, rosin, and other violin accessories. Rentals start at $20 a month not including deposit. more

Great violin and stringed instrument shop. 8/10/2005

I play the violin and my sound post once fell off and I had no idea what to do. A friend recommended going to Bischofberger Violins and I found the location after some searching. The owner quickly fixed the sound post and handed my violin back to me, all within 10 minutes. He didn't even charge for the service. A wonderful place to go to for quick, professional service on your stringed instrument. They also rent and sell instruments and strings and various accessories for stringed instruments. more
