The great thing about Respect is that they have all the latest mixtapes, from local to national artists, at good, cheap NYC mixtape prices. The regular selection of CDs and vinyl is nice, although you won't really find too many bargains (OK for an indy store).

Looking for a good place to buy new and used hip hop on vinyl? Check out Respect Records. The selection runs deep and there are great finds (though maybe I shouldn't be sharing this because you will 'steal away' with the jams!). You won't find any bargain basement used records, but the used records they do carry are in excellent condition. Expect to pay CD prices for most full length albums. I always drop a load of cash when I shop there because I can't seem to put back the rarities I inevitably find while browsing. The owner is knowledgeable and helpful, and he will special order anything they don't have in stock. Great record shop.
