This is a great place to get new and used CDs for really cheap. If you go directly in the back of the store there is a wall of CDs for .99. It takes awhile to find ones that are worth purchasing but its worth it. You can listen to any CD before buying it which helps.

in 1996, when i first moved to seattle i would spend so much time and money here. they had a really cool used section, bought all of my old cd's which i would promptly trade for new ones and the staff were almost all really friendly, down to earth and helpful; now however its a different place. no one greets you, or asks if you need help. everytime im there, it seems as if the staff could care less if you bought anything and have no interest in the customers. this is too bad, and why i will never again buy anything from them. hope you have better luck, maybe its just me?

Cellophane Square is located in the University District and while they do sell new stuff, this is the place to go to find the long lost cd you have been looking for.
I think alot of studens are hocking their old cd collections after burning to their ipods!
I have found that the turnaround is pretty fast so you check in off and on you will a whole other inventory.
If you are a music freak like me you will want to check this place out.

Many moons ago, as a high school student, I spent much time in this store. Since then, prices have shot up, and the discount card has been discontinued. The selection is still pretty good, but some of the newer used CD stores in the area have more depth in their selection. The staff is still knowledgeable and helpful. I still shop at this store when I am in the area, but I no longer go out of way to shop here.

Cellophane Square has a good inventory of new and used CDs, and because the used discs are filed with the new discs it is easy to browse and see what is available. The pop/rock genre is best represented, but I have often found hidden gems in the blues, folk, and world music sections upstairs. They also have a great selection of boxed sets and special items that I have not seen in other used CD shops.

Cellophana Square used to be an okay place to buy music (never really all that good) but know it just down right sucks. CD's are over priced selection is minimal and the staff seem to think they're to cool for school or something. I guess it's one of the few indie record stores on the ave. that actually sell new music, but I'd much rather ride the bus for an hour to get to Easy Street or Sonic Boom than go to Cellophane Square to just leave disapointed. Boo.

Cellophane Square is still a great place to shop for used CDs and records, although I don't understand why they don't offer more money in trade/credit than for cash when you bring stuff in now; also they don't have their original guaranteed buy-back of 80% of original price anymore... but they still have the same good selection.
