If you can wait for some of the blockbuster hits to come off the major theaters, then Admiral is the place to catch them before they go to dvd. Its a great old landmark West Seattle theater with a great price. Never a big crowd, the screen and sound are excellent.

What a treasure! About 6-7 years ago it looked like the last shows to be played at Cinerama would be the original Star Wars trilogy. The manager came to the front of the theater before each show and asked the audience to call the owners to see what they could do to keep this landmark open. WHo knew that movie buff Paul Allen would finance the restoration and update of the theater. It is on of the largest screens in the country, and one of the few theaters ever built to show epics such as Lawrence of Arabia (which you haven't see until you've seen it here). It was state-of-the-art in the 1960s, and with Allen's investment it is state-of-the-art again today, with the most sophisticated film and digital projection systems and audio systems available. Best of all, it still has that funky 60s feel, with a brilliantly executed splash of 21st century added. Whenever there's a big movie to be seen, Cinerama is the only place to see it.

Been to AMC Pacific Place once. The theater is great, nice and spacious. My husband and I took a bus there as being adviced parking is expensive there. I never find out how much it costs though. It is on the fourth floor of Pacific Place. Very convenient to go and see a movie after shopping.

Big comfy seats, wine during a movie, no heads clouding your vision - Watching a movie at Big Picture is like being pampered. Plus, the daytime shows are cheaper than at the big, crammed, sticky floor theaters... And they play interesting, art house movies. The only down side is the reservation process is a little anxiety producing - you leave a message and just have to trust that they got it and that there will be space. But so far I've had no problems.

Come give this place a visit. Both are located at the Science Center and are basically neighbors as the walk to each theater takes about 2 minutes. Both have huge screens and comfortable seats. The seats in the Boeing Imax theater are very plush and provide a great experience. The Eames are little bit hard, but that will prevent you from falling asleep. When you find a movie you like come here and watch it, it's fairly cheap!

Ever get home from work only to be greeted by flavorless left-overs and insipid network television; then Seattle’s Central Cinema is the place for you! Like some magical all-curing elixir, the Central Cinema is a guaranteed remedy for the “dull evening” blues. Set inconspicuously on the corner of 21st & Union, this place has everything you want in a convenient, inexpensive and entertaining evening: easy street parking, great food, beer & wine, good service, and of course, movies that entertain*. Tickets are only $5 and they have $5 pizzas and $10 pitchers during happy hour! I admit that this review is completely biased. I love this place and go there all the time and I want to make sure this place stays in business. So check it out… http://www.central-cinema.com/
*The word “entertain” may be subjective but entertain is what these movies do by anyone’s definition. They may be great, they may be terrible, and sometimes it is too close to call. Where they get their play list is a mystery. Late night commercials on IFC? Obscure corners of IMDB? One thing is for sure…you walk away with plenty of conversation and a feeling that you did something fulfilling with your evening.

This place is amazing. I wish all movie theaters kept their old school charm. Plus, I've only been in Seattle a couple of months, and the only movie I've seen there was the Curse of the Were Rabbit, which makes you happy, whereever you are!

Hands down. There is no comparison to this theatre and it's MEGA HUGE screen. My first movie here was Star Wars in 1977, then Grease in 1978. I still fondly remember them and the many movies that I've seen there since then. There's a reason that this is an old Seattle favorite - this is the way that movies used to be watched, and the way they come out best on-screen. For big Hollywood blockbusters, this is the ONLY place in the universe to see those movies. Thank God Paul Allen bought it and is renovating it!
