My husband and I generally prefer either foreign or independent films, but on the rare occasion we want to see something mainstream, we head to Pacific Place. I love that they have parking on-site (uncommon for downtown!), and the theaters are large and comfortable. Though my interactions with them have been limited, the staff is always friendly and accommodating.
Another plus is the many good restaurants on the same level of the mall, so you can really make a nice date night.

This is one theater I enjoy going at downtown. The theater is clean and comfortable, gives you a big city New York feel. It just seems that the moviegoers are more sophisticated and more mature than our area theaters with more teenage crowds. Parking is easy below the building and of course, nice restaurants are just minutes by the theater.

For multiplex theaters downtown you really only have the choice of going to Pacific Place (AMC) or The Meridian (Loews). Each theater plays different movies, so if you want to see a specific movie, you really have no choice. Pacific Place seems to play the more popular movies, which could be good or bad depending on what you are in to.
Personally, I prefer the theater at Pacific Place, but like the snack bar at The Meridian better. The great thing about the Pacific Place Theater is the parking garage. Parking is cheap after 5:00. I would suggest parking at Pacific Place, even to go see a movie at the Meridian. They are only a block away from each other.

I think it is pretty interesting how they put such a huge theater on the 5th floor of a mall downtown. Some fancy architect must have had a good time with it. The architecture itself is kind of interestingIn the lobby they have this open-space-above-your-head-with-raw-timber-post-and-beam- construction thing going. What really strikes me is the amount of empty space in this theater, where the cielings in the lobby must be 50 feet high. The lobby has two levels with an escalator connecting them. My advice is to get whatever goodies you want on the lower level since the upper level is often closed. Other than the space the theater is average.
