The Guild 45th in the Wallingford neighborhood is like the anti-Cineplex. There are 2 screens located through seperate entrances. The seats are nothing like the cushy ones you find in bigger theaters. But the Guild runs great movies and is worth a visit. My only complaint is that the seats are so close together that during a recent sold-out show, I felt like I was getting the plague from a gentleman coughing directly into my ear.

The Guild is a University District institution; a theater with some real character. You're unlikely to find the latest Disney movie here, but you're quite likely to find a decent foreign flick, occasionally a really obscure one. It's an aesthetically pleasing place, but sadly mismanaged. Oh well - try to ignore any jerks you run into and enjoy the movies!

Time for a renovation!!!!! Does anyone remember the Northgate theatre's final years? Oh,the fine scent of urine, spilled beer, clogged ventilation systems, and old shoes is the potpourri of the guild. Not to mention dimensions of the theater (can you say "tunnelvision".......however, the 2nd screen is great. They still bring in the great flicks and it's a perfect spot to get dinner or a drink beforehand, but like an old dog, it needs a bath.
