Okay. So it's Abercrombie and Fitch. We all know they cater to a select group of people. So much so that (from the mouth of an actual employee) if an attractive woman walks in the store and appears to be the right size with the correct facial/hair features, a working employee will actually approach her with an in-store application for a job. I'm not going to argue that the store is racist, sexist etc... this is not the business review anybody wants to read. Abercrombie and Fitch have a select range of clothing... embellished tanks for outrageous prices (60 bucks for a spaghetti strap with a few rhinestones!) to logo-smeared track pants and hoodies. Like the color black? You won't find it here, according to am employee, they are not allowed to carry items in the color black (uh??????????????!). The Ezra clothing line is attempting to be a high-fashion line with jean prices reaching in the upper hundreds. But this is Abercrombie! The pre-teens that walk in with their mothers should not be wearing 180 buck jeans! Not that their parent's pocketbooks would be stretched by such a purchase. If you do go into Abercrombie, just had to the back and see if they have a few items on sale. Otherwise, just walk on by my friends, but do take a peak at the half-naked bulky men and stick-girls they make stand near the doors to promote.... um... okay so I don't know what they're promoting.... probably a forewarning to "get a job elsewhere, look what they made me do" .

I pass by Atlas on my walk to and from work every day, and more often than not I get pulled in...just to see what unique vintage finds I might uncover. I'm not real taken the selection they put outside each day, but that doesn't stop me from venturing inside the store to browse around...great used jeans and vintage shirts from the 70s and 80s abound! Definitely check out Atlas if you haven't yet....even if you don't find something vintage you like, it's a lot of fun just taking a walk through the past.

I work for a small tech business in Seattle; and we ordered custom printed merch from B-Bam.
Our logo on some American Apparel Hoodies and vintage tees.
Really great service, price, and turn around.
We ordered 100+ items; but they will do just 1 item as well.

Backstage thrift is probably one of the smaller consignment shops locate on Capital Hill.
With a limited selection and a lot of competition from Value Village, somehow this store seems to stay afloat. This store boasts a large selection of used Cd's but it pales in comparison to the various used music stores in the area. The majority of the clothes are for women although there are a few racks of men's clothes but nothing too interesting.
There is also a small upstairs level that contains scarves and shoes.
Backstange Thrift is located on 11th Ave right by Barca and Bad Ju Ju.

It's becoming more and more acceptable for men to be interested in grooming and looking good in clothing. Finally, women have a place to take their boyfriends/husbands to find jeans that don't have the saggy butt--a complaint by many women I've found concerning men's jeans. It is also a cool place because while you're there you'll notice other straight men browsing clothing. The stereotype is that only gay men know how to dress well and straight men need a lot of help so it is refreshing to see other straight men seeking out fashionable options. Gents: you'll need to get over the whole "this isn't manly" idea when visiting and possibly adjust your perception of what being a man truly is. I believe there is general discontent from certain females that men have gone too casual. My grandma thinks this is a disgrace as men in her day used to dress to impress.
My experience with Blackbird has been from their Fremont location. Immediately this store gained popularity with male friends of mine because at that time there wasn't a true men's boutique that catered to young professional men with an urban twist (not just suits, but casual streetwear)
I first met Suzy the mother of Nicole whom I later met and had a great discussion about brands and clothing. I purchased my first Coal hat there and was later invited to an exclusive sale (windows were covered with paper, a guest list, a bottle of water, and a survey) that was only available to past shoppers. It was at this sale that my Brown Sound jacket was on sale which I spied one of the first times I visited the boutique. I got it for a good deal and have been happy with it ever since.
The staff is really helpful and they make you feel really comfortable while shopping. Plus, they know and love the brands they carry so they can tell you all the backstory behind each brand and if Nicole is there she'll tell you why she bought the brand and even a bit about the politics that went into it.
For a guy who's the least bit interested in dressing well this is a great place to start. Fellas, there's more options out there than fleece and bad denim!

Wow...seems like the fear of speech has settled in Fremont based on the comments. If you'd rather try on clothes by yourself, I'd suggest trying Target. If you'd like to serve some fashion that might get you noticed, Bliss is there. I come in from NYC all the time and I'm always impressed with whats on the racks. Of course, it's not Target prices but its cute and sassy which makes every dime well worth it! Plus you can score a few things on sale almost every time.

I regularly visit Bon Macy's to pick up work clothes. The prices are fairly high, but during sale periods they get very reasonable. The pants and shirts are great, and the selection is wide. Unfortunately, the suit experience I had there was horrible. The tailr made the pants too short, too tight and very uncomfortable. The jacket barely buttons, and the suit is now virtually unwearable. I was very specific on how to have it tailored and my wishes were ignored. Very Frustrating!

Buffalo Exchange is one of the better stores in Seattle for used clothes. They have a great selection that is fairly constantly turning over, so you always see new things. The prices are very reasonable, but you can get some good things here. I even got a great Kenneth Cole watch after trading in some clothes. They also have a service to donate the clothes that you bring in if they don’t buy them from you.
Worth a visit!!

So your favorite ol' pair of treads are begining to fall apart? No problem.. Drop them off at Busy Shoes and he will fix you up! While shoe repair is not cheap, it will save you in the long run, buy you some time, and save your cherished pair of shoes, no matter what their symptom may be.
It is very convenient and the turnaround varies but is usually pretty quick.
Another bonus is that they have an arsenal of shoe supplies there if say you broke a shoestring or something.
Busy Shoes is located on the 2nd floor of the Columbia Center.
