Perhaps I am dating myself a bit, but I remember back in the late 80's when Zebraclub clothes were all the rage. Then they changed the focus of what they carried, and I drifted. Recently, I stopped in the Pine Street store while shopping with a friend, and I fell in love all over again. The clothes were simply fantastic. Even better, the employees were pleasant, unlike some in neighboring shops. I was so happy with the service and selection, I will be stopping by there whenever I feel the need for new clothes. The store is a bit small, but I feel that the space was used to maximize the selection. So, the size of it really didn't matter.

Skip the Bon and Nordstroms and try out Zebra Club. They have clothing from the likes of Paul Frank and other urban wear. For fans of Urban Outfitters (both male & female) you will likely take a liking to Zebra Club.
They carry shoes and usually have alot of markdown items as well.
If you are a tween or a 30 something you will likely find something you like if you dress with flair.
Zebra club is just one block up from the Pike Street Market.

More
The first time I came across Retro Image Apparel, I didn't even know it. I was Christmas shopping for my nephews at Clover (a great kids store in Ballard), but after a quick tour of the store I was struggling for inspiration. Then, in the back corner, I zeroed in on a stack of kids t-shirts silkscreened with classic commercial artwork for a long-defunct French bicycle manufacturer. As an avid cyclist as well as a fan of great design, I rifled through the pile, picked out two favorites and happily shipped them off to New York.
Fast forward to this morning. As my wife and I were making a quick pass through the Fremont Sunday Market, we were both drawn to the same booth by a visual feast of graphic design -- Russian social realist propaganda, classic art deco product labels, and dozens of examples of commercial art for European cycling and motorcycle companies, emblazoned across everything from men's and women's t-shirts to infant onesies to aprons and jeans jackets. The mysterious purveyor of Clover's kids t-shirts turned out to be Roger, the owner, manager, and production chief of Retro Image Apparel.
In the process of picking up several baby gifts, plus a birthday present for my brother (also a cyclist, and father of the now-stylishly-clad nephews), we learned that Roger has been accumulating out-of-copyright graphic design for over twelve years, and has been turning them into unique and stylish clothing in his Ballard workshop for the past two. His cycling designs were recently featured in a national cycling magazine, and orders have started to roll in from across the U.S. and, increasingly, from Europe as well.
In addition to his occasional appearances in Fremont, Roger sells t-shirts - both pre-produced and custom orders - through his website: http://www.retroimageapparel.com. Click through his extensive catalog of classic designs and you're sure to come across an image that strikes you. Pick a color, order it soon and you're likely to have a cool shirt that your friends have never seen. Wait too long and you might have to settle for something your crowd has seen before - Roger's orders are taking off, and it's safe to say that his designs will be seen much more frequently on the streets of Seattle (and New York, and Paris) before too long.

Great customer service!!! Angela, Megan, (and their dog, Charlie!) are far from your typical, stuck up boutique employees. I'm new to the boutique world of clothing (moving up from good old American Eagle & Abercrombie); They were so patient with me, deciding between a pair of jeans and a few shirts (all on sale!) - they're eager to offer their opinion and lend a hand, but not pushy AT ALL. I HIGHLY suggest you stop by The Industry before checking out the other boutiques in the area. It's tough to find (I stumbled in by chance), but well worth the search.

I like to visit this store when I'm really in the mood to roam. It is enormous - on three levels. The main level is womens, I believe mens is upstairs and the bottom level is all Baby Gap and Gap Kids. I normally browse the sale racks and you can find some amazing deals - especially in the kids section! I recently bought my daughter a sweater with hearts on it for next Valentine's Day - it's was $5!

I'm an avid runner, and finally checked out Super Jock 'n Jill from a friend's recommendation. In the past, I just bought whatever was on sale at Big 5, but the service, fitting, and advice you get from the employees is unmatched. Every employee seems to be very knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about running.
I bought a pair, took it home, and was unhappy after a few runs. With NO QUESTIONS ASKED, they apologized and allowed me to fit a new pair, which I am very happy with. ...and they're very reasonably priced. Sure, you might find the same pair of shoes online for $15-20 cheaper, but the service you get here is incredible. Most pairs I tried on were right around $100.

Who doesn't love Sneaker City? They ahve one of the largest collection of trendy sneakers (Converse, Adidas, Pumas) in nearly every style and color combination you can think of, including more specialty shoes and limited editions. The best part is that the prices are definitely reduced and the shoes are often on sale.

Oslo's on the top of Queen Anne opened a couple months ago and it has the best collection of stylish hip clothes for men around. The owner is a guy named John and he's there everyday with his dog Oslo (store namesake). Great place for gifts for yourself and others. He's also got a barber chair in there for a haircut--Chad there cut my hair a couple weeks ago & I was pleased with it.
