everything was SO good. you could eat here and just order tapas and drinks! there were 4 of us and we each chose a tapa to order. i think my favorites were the cheese and proccuto and the fried cheese that you dip in liek a marinara sauce? i don's remember the exact names. we also ordered one of the paellas wich was also verry good. all of the seafood was cooked perfectly. not chewy and not under cooked. it was amazing! the timing was also nice because the paella takes a littel longer to cook, so it was nice to have ordered and shares the 4 tapas and also the sangria. i have never had a sangria made with red wine, i would never even choose to drink red wine but it was SO good. not too intense with the wine taste but also not too fruity. Pros: easy to find. amazing food. Cons: parking, and it was a little dark in there

Tango is not what it is cracked up to be. We had the tortilla among other things and I tasted a strong mold flavor (we all agreed) I was not sure what it was but I suspected the red peppers inside. It was served with a smoked tomato jam and creme fraiche or something. I complained and they brought me a new one that had the exact same mold flavor which was not too surprising. I didn't think they could fix that. Later had the potato croquettes served with the same sauce and the same moldy flavor. I sent it back. Believe me I do not normally send things back but I expected a good meal....... we were celebrating a birthday and I wanted it to be good. the Ecuadorian Shrimp Cevice was excellent but another dish with Calamares were good but was served with a green "spinach?" pesto with pine nuts that was uninspired and tasted like dirt. We also had olives many of which were good, but some of which tasted like Windo cleaner (my freind and I agreed.) and some were just plain mushy and bad tasting. We also ordered the Fruit de Mar Paella which came after a long expected wair but it was cold and the rice was undercooked (not al dente) but crunchy. It also had a smokey flavor that wasnot intended or good. It was supposed to be a wine, saffron sauce which sounds delicious .... we hardly touched it but then the server insisted we take it home. There were a few good items but overall it was a big dissappointment and to top it all off the chef came out and told me he had just made his tomato jam yesterday so that it couldn't be bad..... well it was. I suspect he is not the same chef who gave this place its reputation .... but he accused me of not understanding the smoked flavor. Well I can taste the difference between smoke and mold! He apparently can't taste. I eat out often enough and it really unusual for me to send anthing back but I only sent the moldy things back. Go try Lark or Licorice for a really good dinner. Pros: nice location good staff Cons: bad food

Tango is a tapas bar that offers a wide variety of assorted tapas. The mushrooms are very tasty as are the sardines...however I was disappointed with the chillis stuffed with tuna, since it tasted like canned tuna fish. If you are hungry go for the paella. We tried the one with all the meats and it was delicious. There was a lot of meat on it and all the flavors had soaked into the rice below it. While a little pricey, if you are looking to have a fun evening with a group then this would be a great place to start it.

Attentive, pleasant and always right there when we needed something. I actually tried to get reservations but they were booked on the Friday night I wanted. (Theater crowd from the Paramount) But, I showed up anyway and the Matradee found a way to squeeze us in. While the food was good, it was a little pricey. But, it was very good and I would certainly go back if the opportunity arises. Wine selection was very nice including some very good Spanish selections. One note, while it does say "tapas" it isn't a true Spanish tapas restaurant. But then I think most Americans would complain if it were. The menu offers both tapas as well as normal entrees. We went with a group of eight to share an evening of tapas and then go to a play. Our first time there was only in the bar with fabulous appetizers, so we were looking forward to dinner! Even though we couldn't have any shellfish (one friend has an allergy), the food - and the experience - was amazing! We started the evening with the cheese plate and wine to read the menu and finally decided that we would only pick two items and ask our waiter to fill out the rest of our meal with the best choices. I have to say that normally I would never order bacon wrapped dates, but they were absolutely outstanding! Other favorites of the night were the green beans, the blue cheese souffles with blueberries and the dessert he chose was a chocolate mousse with a fabulous spicy sauce underneath. I have to say that the group favorites were those that our watier selected. His wine suggestions were also wonderful and paired nicely with the dishes, and not terribly overpriced. All in all, it was a wonderful evening and we will definitely be going back again soon! Pros: Great staff, parking across the street, great food, good wine selection Cons: can't really think of anything

I've been going to Tango for many, many years and feel compelled to write a review after too many terrific experiences to count. (The restaurant recently underwent a change in owners and, sadly, some of the staff left, but otherwise the place is unchanged.) You'll get wonderful service (I almost always sit in the bar versus the restaurant) and the food is some of the best meals I've had in town. Try the bistec, a cheese plate, the potato croquettes, and, of course, the El Diablo?not to be missed! The Queso Azul is consistently one of the best dishes I've ever had?ever, in my life!?and the ceviches can be very good. If that doesn't sell you, Monday nights offer wine bottles at 1/2 price. Pros: an amazing chef, great food, wonderful service, great wine list, El Diablo Cons: dinner can get a little pricey

The combinations are ambitious but fall flat. I can see people who have not eaten tapas before being impressed with the cuisine. If you are experienced with tapas, you will find it is much fanfare but not done particularly well. Where tapas should be a striking contrast of flavors and ingredients, somehow it ended up being just a mishmash. I was treated to this restaurant as it?s really not in my budget to spend $100 per person for dinner. However, I have to say it?s not all that. Just because something is expensive doesn?t mean its good, or even that well prepared. The food is all right, the olives and cheeses they offer are very nice. But seriously, its way over priced for what it is. I?ve had much better tapas before at far cheaper places (Cafe Iberico in Chicago comes to mind). The sangria is very refreshing and perhaps the happy hour they offer is a decent value, but overall, not that impressed. For a special occasion I?d recommend the nearby Machiavelli for couples or Mamounia (Moroccan) for small groups. Both offer a great dinning experience, very good food and a much better value for your buck. Pros: The food is good Cons: Take out a loan to afford it.
