These guys are way off the beaten path, located near Qwest Field. But a great and unique selection of pieces, well worth the few extra minutes of walking. You'll see things here that you won't see in your typical downtown or mall jewelry store.

There a locally owned store called Tiempo in Capitol Hill that's really cool. It's on 14th right where Madison and Pike meet (14th and Pike).
All they have are time pieces: watches, clocks, pocket watches, etc... I bought a clock there once. They have some really funky stuff there. It's worth a look and the prices are the same as dept. stores like REI and Nordstrom's.

I have bought a few pieces of jewelry here for my girlfriend, and they have always been very helpful in trying to find the right pieces and working in my price range.
The jewelry can be a bit standard, but if you have the patience, you can typically find that special piece here without having to get a second mortgage.
They also are good about getting watch batteries replaced and jewelry cleaned if you bought from any of their stores.

More
I have visited this store in downtown Seattle twice now to sell a couple of small sterling silver candy dishes. One of my co-workers recommended the store to me as one that has been in Seattle for a long time and that has a good reputation. As its name implies, this store specializes in rare and collectible coins and currency. However, they also offer sterling silver and gold jewelry, including jewelry set with precious and semi-precious stones. They actually have a rather large and good jewelry selection. They also sell small collectibles and small vintage and antique items such as vintage costume jewelry and accessories. Both my visits to this store were very satisfying. The owner/staff are polite, professional, very friendly and a good source of information on what they offer. If you have jewelry, coins or certain kinds of collectibles you would like to sell, I would certainly recommend them. If you are looking for gold or silver jewelry, I suggest you visit their store before you head to one of the large department stores or jewelry stores. You may find what you’re looking for at a price below the retail price you would pay at a major store.

They know what they're talking about. That's the first thing that strikes you when you walk into Fashion Accessories Plus on Broadway. Nearly every employee in the store is sporting a headful of piercings, and most of the other customers are as well. While at first this is somewhat intimidating to a lesser pierced individual, IT IS A GOOD THING. Aside from the intimidation factor, the employees are extremely friendly and helpful, and have an extensive knowledge of piercing jewelry which is helpful if you're not quite sure of what you want. They have counters upon counters of jewelry on display where you are sure to find something you want. The prices are middle of the road typical jewelry prices, but they are sure to have something you like in your price range.

In the days of big box stores of jewelery and huge selection, Russell's is a great neighborhood store that you can go to to get alterations, sizings, etc. although the selection of jewlery was not the most impressive. I was able to get a silver necklace fixed and turned around in a few days, and it came back polished as well. All for a very reasonable price and friendly service. If you live in the area, think about bringing your jewelery alterations there.

I took a family heirloom to be repaired at Akamatsu. After refusing to quote me a price and taking a week longer than I was originally promised, they all but ruined my grandmother's ring I've worn for a decade: the welding was horrible, they had cut out half the detail, and hadn't reingraved it as asked. I immediately started to cry and tried to explain why I wasn't satisfied. I asked for a partial refund. They were so condescending! I stood my ground and finally they threw half of what I had paid in my face, literally swearing at me to get out of the store. As I left, still sobbing, they called out after me, "and don't ever come back!" I have never been treated so poorly at a professional establishment in my life.

The is a buyer beware for anyone thinking about using this store, their stuff is FAKE and they are trying to pass it off as real.
I had bought a ring that was claimed to be all "sterling silver" but was not because about 3 hours later there was a horrible green ring around my finger where the ring was.
I then tried to return it over the phone but the seller had awful customer service. She insisted that I had to come all the way back to her store before she would return the money on my card. Well that would have been fine had I just not driven home and it was another 20 miles back down to the Pike Place market. So needless to say it was the principal so I went all the way back down there and spent more money in gas than I got for my refund but it was worth it to me for this seller of fake jewelry to not have ONE penny of my money.
BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!
Cons: fake jewelry

I have been shopping at Andaluz since they opened, and have always had okay experiences. I stopped in today with a friend looking for wedding gifts. We shopped around for about a half an hour, everyone working was very nice to us. When we got in line with our purchases, the woman behind the counter who I know to be the owner, was happily chatting it up the customer in front of us. A black family came in and was looking around, commenting on how cute everything was. The owner immediately became distracted, coldly staring them down. My friend handed her the items she wanted to buy, as the owner was ringing up my friend, she snapped at one of the men with the family and told him, " Man you're making me real uncomfortable with your hand in your pocket and that coat your wearing." The man seemed extremely embarrassed, she responded to this by shrugging her shoulders and justifying her comment by saying "this is my livelihood." She then carelessly threw my friends purchase in a bag and shoved it at her without a word. One of the women then told the owner she was looking for something to bring back to San Francisco with her and asked the owner how much a purse was. The owner grabbed the purse from her and hid it behind the counter and said, "Oh this is so expensive, I have $1 items over there. "
I was horrified. This was the worst shopping experience of my life.
I will NEVER shop here again, I am also telling everyone I know to never shop here again. Don't support a place like this!
Pros: location
Cons: everything
