I have been shopping at Dish It Up since it opened in our Magnolia neighborhood and I love this store. They always seem to have what I am looking for including hard to find kitchen gadgets, and now they even sell the perfect wines for every occasion. I haven't tried the cooking classes yet but I understand they are terrific. In my opinion you can't go wrong shopping at Dish It Up.
Pros: Location and Selection
Cons: None

I was impressed with the layout of the store. The price ranges of items fit any budget or pocketbook. The most impressive aspect of the store is in the knowledge of the staff. Dekker (i think that is his name) was able to explain the history and aspects of the items down to the original artists and craftsmen. Overall, I would have to say this is a must see store for anyone interested in southeast asian art and culture. Also it is not far from other must see downtown seattle attractions. I will definately be back on my next trip for christmas gifts!

This is a boutique whose owners passion is visible. Curt Steiners very usually shop is worth the trip to Ballard all on its own. I would suggest calling for store hours and directions before heading out, it would be easy to walk right by the shop because of the lack of marks for the shop on the street. This makes it kind of a fun secret to find. The handmade jewelry and cards are unique works of art, and Mr Steiner will be working on them when you arrive.
Pros: lovely, unique items
Cons: parking

After looking at most all of the larger retail stores for my engagement ring, I was thrilled to find LT Denny! The service was very "Nordstrom" - above and beyond! Jamie was wonderful and was the ONLY person to follow up with a thank-you note and e-mail after I visited the store for the first time.
I LOVE my Tacori engagement ring - the price was below the Eastside mall store that also carried it, but beyond that, I feel I have found a jewlery store I can trust and will use for a lifetime!!!

This shop is worth a trip to the U District (OK, I live in the neighborhood). The store is packed to the rafters with unique, fascinating, slightly creepy merchandise. For some reason, I assumed the owner of the place would be aloof, but she is friendly and darling. Please support this business!
Pros: Unique, interesting merchandise; owner is very pleasant.
Cons: none

If you really want to find something more unique and really special, this place was great. They have a wide assortment of jewels and the staff was very eager to take time to make sure you found what you were looking for.
They do work on commission (from what I could tell), so you have some room to bargain. I walked out of there with a really great ring and what I felt was a really great price. Hard to beat that!

More
The Shane co offers some of the BEST customer service. Its seems as though they are short staffed, so you should be patient. Ask questions, they WANT to help! They were so helpful when i purchased my ring, and they are always very friendly. I work retail, so i am very understanding, unlike alot of people who are quite unreasonable. EE Robbins lies and voids their warranty if they have to best price, and they have catalog styles- who wants to have the same ring as their neighbor. And Jareds charges you for a warranty! The Shane co is one stop, one payment and everything is taken care of forever, for nothing! Its free!! They are do not catalog anything, since there styles change constantly, and they are a great deal as long as you ok with openly disscussing your price range, they DO have something for everyone!! This is a must see!!
PROS: Great Lifetime FREE Warranty!!!
CONS: Sometimes short staffed but it worth the wait!
