I bought some fine jewelry from here and it was a great experience. If I ever was to buy some nice diamonds or other jewelry I would do it here. Excellent quality and excellent service. Very good prices compared to the retail stores.

We needed wedding rings in a hurry but, of course, we wanted something special - no stones, but an interesting pattern on the band. They had books of designs. We chose an ancient Celtic one and within a few days they called us to come down and make our rings. With careful supervision I melted the gold for my husband's ring and poured it into the mold. He did the same for mine. His folks didn't know we were getting married until we invited them to watch us make the rings. We'd looked at several other places so knew their price was reasonable and the service was outstanding.

I've loved Crane Jewelers (and its predecessor at this location, Philip Monroe Jewelers) for years. They don't have a huge collection but they always have some very nicely designed pieces that you won't see anywhere else. Worth a visit.

I love Goldmine! This small shop of three jewelry makers is in the Market downtown. It is a really cool and very tiny shop full of little nooks and crannies.
I've had my fiancee's engagement ring and my wedding ring designed and made there. It is a very involved (if you want it to be) process where you work through a series of drawings and wax models to get to exactly what you want.
Once you are ready to make the piece, they will have a "casting party" for you where you get to invite friends and cast the jewelry yourself! This is true for gold and I think silver. If you do platinum it must be cast elsewhere.
I've worked with Cindy in the shop and am very glad to have done so. She really makes you feel like you are the designer even though she is the one bringing the expertise to the table.
I'd give em 6 stars if I could.

My husband and I used Robin's Jewelers to get his wedding band--we had found, after weeks of searching, a band he liked in platinum, but the price tag was way out of our reach. We investigated some jewelers in the area and decided to go with Robin's--what a treat.
The owner carefully walked us through each step and helped with comments or suggestions along the way. We ended up with white gold instead of platinum, but with higher quality stones in the setting. It was a fantastic moment when my husband tried on the wax casting for what would be his ring, then weeks later, tried on the ring itself. If I ever needed a custom piece again, I would absolutely return to them. They're friendly and approachable, and definitely have the good of their customer in mind.

I contacted Alan Chappron, owner of Gemological Consulting Services, because of the other positive review from judysbook and was not disappointed. I initially emailed Alan from his website to set up an appointment and he responded promptly, just a few hours later. I liked that. Then, Alan appraised my diamond ring while we waited and within one week, had mailed us a nice, 2 page laminated report. The whole experience was great - I highly recommend Alan.

This gem of a shop (pun intended) in Queen Anne is magical and breathtaking. Filled with glass, gems, and metal, the shelves house a phenomenal selection of jewelry. The staff is knowledgeable, fun, and willing to help customers find the piece that is just right. They also possess the ability to transfix things – replacing lost pieces from a broach, for instance, or turning clip-on earrings into pierced studs.

I have a Seiko perpetual calender watch and my battery died. I phoned watch repair at Macy's in Northgate and they told me 1 week and $50 to replace the battery because it had to be sent out. Alex quoted me $30 and did it overnight. (The battery for this particular Seiko IS more expensive than others and re-setting the calender is complicated.) Alex is very knowledgeable about different brands and types of watches, letting us know that kinetic powered watches are not a panacea. Their capacitors need upgrading after about 5 years. Alex is located in the Fred Meyer in Ballard.

In my first two years in Seattle I would often walk through Twist pining for the beautiful jewelry and unique gift items. But last year I discovered Jill Platner's line of jewelry. I came in week after week to look at the bracelets. The staff at Twist were always accommodating and helpful, offering their opinions on which piece looked best on me. I finally found "the one" and made the plunge. I've taken it off maybe 3 times in the last year.
My girlfriend fell in love with my bracelet. For her birthday I decided to get another design for her. But because her wrist is larger than mine I was concerned it wouldn't fit.
The staff at Twist told me they could do special orders. All I had to do was measure her wrist and they would get the bracelet made to order. That's what we did and it came back perfect!
Everyone at Twist is highly professional and they understand that you are making an investment in high quality pieces.
I've been back for a Chrome Hearts ring which they also ordered in my size.
Highly recommended!
