Great selection of fish. I travel a lot and haven't had sardine like that anywhere else. I sat at the sushi bar & talked with Saito while I watched him make my sushi. He was so fast it was amazing! His sushi case is on the side so you can see him work. I stayed long after I had finished eating and talked about sake with a regular at his bar who seemed to know a lot about sake and sushi. The fish was very fresh and beautifully presented. The sake selection was quite large and the waitress brought me a sake not on the menu that was delicious. Will go back when next in town.
Pros: great fish and sake selection
Cons: slow service when it got busy

This is a great place for a date night, or to take the family to. Watching the chefs do their knife show is amazing and the food is so good, too! Children really enjoy this as well as adults.

I just moved to Washington and was looking for some sushi on Queen Anne. I am so glad that I went here. Their rolls are fresh and inventive. I recently came in with my girlfriend ans she ordered sushi and I had Thai food, yellow curry. Not many places offer those choices. I have tried a few of their dinner dishes and have never been disappointed. One of our favorite appetizers are the summer salad rolls served with peanut sauce. This place is consistently very good. Thanks!
Pros: Fresh sushi, eclectic menu options...something 4 everyone
Cons: parking, small place

When I can't think of what I want to eat, usually this is where I end up. Excellent vegan sushi options, a fantastic house salad (I must figure that dressing out!). I typically will call them up on a week day around noon, feeling hungry and a little lazy, order my same old same old (asparagus roll and avocado roll, house salad), and drive up there five or ten minutes later and it's ready. I can hardly wait to get home and eat it. They also do a very nice vegetable Tempura, the house soup is excellent, a little smoky and salty, and all of it is pretty reasonably priced. Even on a Friday night at rush hour and the line well out the door, I didn't wait more than ten minutes to be seated. The waitstaff are masters of efficiency..when it just about enters your mind that you've been waiting a second past too long for your food, there it is, beautifully presented and mouth watering. I have eaten there maybe fifty times over five years, and never once, NEVER found hair in my food. I feel sorry for those folks who did. Fluke.
Pros: Inexpensive, Fast! Fresh, Delicious, Diverse.

Great place for authentic Japanese bowl of ramen. The soup is the type that has been slow cooked for many hours until it is opaque and the pork is tender and falls apart. You can order the soup to be lean or extra fatty - more fat, more flavour! It is full of flavour and the noodles are just right - you can request if you like your noodles firm or softer. If one bowl of noodles doesn't satisfy you can order extra noodles or sides with your meal. the price ranges from 7 bucks to upwards of 12 (if i remember correctly). There is limited seating, so if you go during busy meal times, be prepared to wait - they dont' accept reservations.

Rolls are not the point here. If you want good rolls, go to either Mashiko in West Seattle or Wasabi Bistro in Belltown (honorable mention for Rikki Rikki in Bellevue). Now, onto the review of Ken's amazing restaurant. He is a master of his craft who will expertly prepare the freshest maguro, hamachi, albacore, toro, etc. and cut it three times as generously as anywhere else, so if what you savor is a slab of perfect raw fish, come here. The kitchen entrees, such as katzudon, are highly recommended as well, as are the appetizers like potstickers or tofu in garlic. There is no glamor or gimick and it's not really a place for people who aren't sure if they like sushi. But for those hardcore sushi lovers: you deserve this.
Pros: best fish, highly skilled chef
Cons: lack of variety for vegetarians

Osaka has a great selection of rolls! If you like spicy, try the spice scallop roll or the spicy tuna. I don't know what they do to their spicy rolls but there are the best I've ever had and I've tried a lot of places in Seattle. Service can be a little slow depending on the night, they just don't have enough staff, but it is worth the wait. For better service, sit at the sushi bar. The sushi chef, Dave, always takes excellent care of those sitting at the sushi bar and even occasionally adds little extras to what you order, like a little ball of spicy tuna or a free set of nigiri. Other rolls that are really good here are the spider roll. hands down the best spider roll in Seattle, there is just no comparison. Other really good deals include the chirashi for $17. On the menu it only list about 6 types of fish that you will get with it, sashimi style, but in reality Dave pretty much gives you a little bit of every type of fish he has on top of a bed of rice. This dish will feed a very very hungry teenager, no problem. Other things besides sushi are the sukiyaki, and the dessert menu. Ester, the owner and Dave's wife, has put together an incredible and very unique dessert menu including my personal favorite, banana tempura and red bean ice cream.
Overall this place has great sushi are very reasonable prices. I have been going here for months every other week or so and they have never let me down. I highly recommend Osaka.
Pros: Great sushi roll selection, dessert, and super friendly staff
Cons: On some days the service can be a bit slow
