Unfortunately, now that they moved to 1032 65th st. in the U-District. They have a smaller space with less merchandise.

11/28/08 I have a terrible feeling that the downtown building has been demolished and that Capitol Music is now in the Roosevelt District of Seattle. Does anyone know for sure?

Capitol Music, downtown Seattle is the bomb! You can find any kind of sheet music in there, and then some. They have instruments to play and some to rent also. I've purchase self-teaching books, but mostly like the sheet music books. They have fake books for jazz, blues, pop. Parking isn't the best since it's downtown, but well worth the trip.

Capitol Music in downtown is a wonderful music store. THey carry a good selection of sheet music, from classical to pop to band and choir. There are rooms available to play through pieces before purchase, and if they don't have what you're looking for, the staff will help you to find it in a catalog or online and order it for you, with the option of shipping it to your address. They sell and rent instruments as well as supplies. I have been extremely happy with Capitol Music.
