I've checked out Bob's and Cellar Homebrew stores and prefer Cellar. Their prices are better and they feel laid-back and friendly. They have a wide selection of ingredients, including a lot of liquid yeast strains and about two dozen hop varieties in the fridge, and bulk specialty grains and malt in the back, as well as bulk liquid malt extract for a good price. There's less equipment for big batches and all-grain brewing here than at Bob's. The staff are homebrew-knowledgeable and helpful, and the store has its own version of the loyalty card: Buy ingredients for seven batches, get the eighth free. Worth the drive, for me.

If you are looking for high quality stuff at a great price this is the place to go. I am the type of online Slime-Ball that will find something I really like in a retail store then go and order it online for much cheaper. I have tried to do this twice at City Kitchens and found that Amazon cannot beat them! Seriously. I will not double-check their prices again. First it was with a high end blender then with a lime press.
Plus you can get lots of help from them in the store.

I ordered my wife a custom down vest from Feathered Friends and they did an awesome job. You can choose your own shell fabric color, specify zipper type and customize a few other details. Wait a few weeks and you have a killer custom down vest for about the same price as an off-the-rack version.
If you're in the market for some great cold-weather outdoor gear, Feathered Friends should be your first stop.

I love shopping at Mrs. Cook's year-round, but an especially sweet time to check them out is during the University Village sidewalk sale. Oh man. Last year I got tons of gorgeous table linens for next-to-nothing. I've also bought many a cookie cutter and festive napkin at Mrs. Cook's... they never disappoint.

Stopped into this store this weekend to pick out some toasting flutes and walked out 2 hours later as a knowledgeable consumer on top fine china, flatware, and stemware brands! This store only carries the best brands out there. These people really know what they are talking about and were extremely helpful in helping me choose the best toasting glasses and other pieces to register for. They were honest about where I could find the best prices and gave me the low down on all the brands they carry as well as which brands I would get the most use of out for what I would be paying.
The cool thing about this gallery is that you can register here for all of you china, stemware, and flatware. They also have a program where you can come back in the store after the honeymoon and they will give you the total dollar amount that was purchased for you. So you can look at all the pieces you received as gifts and can either decide to take those pieces or put the total dollar amount towards something else in the store.
I found their prices were the same as Macy's so I would recommend talking to these people and getting exactly what you want rather than being sold to by someone at Macy's who doesn't have a clue what they are selling you!
My Mom was stoked about her visit to the store too because she found pieces from her flatware that had been discontinued. They let her pick out the odds and ends that she was missing to complete her set!

If your kitchen knives are getting dull, drop in to this little storefront (at the north end of the market, on the uphill side of the street, a few doors north of the original Starbucks). Not only do they sell lots of great high-end knives, they also offer a sharpening service.

I turned to Soaring Heart because spring mattresses were killing my back. As far as futons go, these are the cream of the crop. They specialize in handmade, all-natural beds that are especially suited for those with allergy sensitivities. I guess the toxic chemicals in traditional mattresses are pretty awful and can be the source of lots of health problems for some people. The beds are made on location and can be delivered.

More
If you have a ton of money to blow and a penchant for culinary delectation, you might find something new and interesting at this high-end kitchen ware store in the heart of tourist-trap central. Here you may find the sort of cooking utensils that many local cooks wish they had in their restaurants, but which usually only end up in the homes of wealthy people. It's not only pricey items that make it into this store, but many of the items here seem to appeal to those who have spent far more money than is typical, learning about food.
