I read a description of the place and I’m still looking for the "European style." I agree with others that the nite staff is friendlier than the day staff. Even though all our bags were with us at check-in (after a couple trips to bring them in), they didn't offer or mention anything about helping us carry the bags up the stairs. The room smelled like musty bad cologne. We bought air freshener to make it tolerable and left our clothes in the suitcases so they wouldn't smell weird. The room was on the corner of the 3rd floor and had a queen bed, bathroom with tub/shower, a decent walk-in closet, and a furnished kitchenette. When I read a review that said it was like visiting great-grandma's house, I thought that pretty much summed it up. The door is pretty flimsy, the key will only lock the handle & NOT the deadbolt, and lets all the noise in. We were a little concerned with the security of our belongings while we were away for the day (nothing ever happened). The walls in the bedroom are textured and touched up in many areas. The bathroom ceiling was cracking (no mold), the cabinet under the sink was crumbling, and the tub had some mystery stains. Bring earplugs because of people/vehicle traffic throughout the night. The cleaning ladies start pretty early in the morning and had our room cleaned by 11am. The bath products were replaced everyday. The shuttle had to be reserved a day before because of limited seating. The guy driving the shuttle was very friendly and even squeezed us in on a morning run even though the front desk told us we needed to give more notice. It is true that outside the Inn there was a homeless guy, but they’re on a lot of other corners and outside of other businesses as well in this area. Most of them are selling newspapers like "Real Change." There’ll be people begging anywhere downtown, it's just part of the city. Overall, we managed to make it through 6 nights at the Inn. We were looking for something within our budget, and got what we paid for. If you're coming here expecting something modern, then you're going to be disappointed. This isn't a charming and cozy place, but rather an older building retrofitted & maintained enough to be livable. There's a lot of potential for this place, but it would require a lot of money. The people who work at the Inn aren't the problem; it's just that the building is old. Before you make reservations please appreciate the fact that this a converted 1930's apartment building- and that there are no elevators or ice machines. Now that we are past that- the room, the ambiance, the front lobby staff and cleaning crew(down to the wonderful maintenance gentleman that carried all of our luggage up to our rooms on the 2nd floor)every thing was beyond amazing- Not to mention the free internet service, cheap parking was a godsend- and the fabulous gourmet market just up the street was perfect with the cute little kitchenette. The landscaping was a welcome surprise coming from a recent snowstorm in Idaho- the little soaps and shampoos smelled wonderful every day. The bed was absolutely comfortable and inviting after late night outings with our friends; as was the deep tub- better than the one we have at home. We will definitely be choosing the Inn at Queen Anne for our next trip back to Seattle- it is so close to every thing that we come to town to see and do- and we loved the fact that the closet is bigger than the one we have here at home! THE SHUTTLE BUS (WHAT A LAUGH) WOULD DROP OFF BUT NOT PICK UP. IT WAS MORE TO THE DRIVERS CONVIENCE THEN THE COUSTOMER. This hotel is a classic styled hotel. Its not fancy and it is definitely no-frills. It's located in the heart of lower Queen Anne which means its close to EVERYTHING! There are plenty of restaurants, boutiques, grocert stores nearby so you'll never be bored staying there. Now for the strange part. It is supposedly haunted. I don't normally believe that sort of thing but the place has been around for quite a while. A friend of mine invited a business associate to Seattle and the company put up her friend in that hotel. Nothing much was said during her stay. A year later they were talking again and when she was supposed to come to town again she asked that they put her in a different hotel. When my friend asked why she said that on the night that she stayed there she didn't sleep a wink because she kept feeling a hand brushing across her face! Personally, i've never experienced anything like that before but I'm sort of thinking that I'd like to spend the night there sometime! sounds cool. I doubt you'll get the same experience staying at motel 6!

The Queen Anne Inn is located near the northwest corner of Seattle Center and is clean, quiet and safe. It's not a luxury hotel - no bellman, and no elevator (but only 3 stories), and it was built in 1929. Some (maybe all?) rooms have kitchenettes, and south facing rooms have A/C. The QA Inn's location in Lower Queen Anne provides easy access not only to Seattle Center, but to some good restaurants and a few bars, as well as a great CD store - Easy Street, and Larry's Market, where you can buy yummy gourmet groceries (or QFC and Safeway where you can buy the regular stuff). And of course there's great coffee nearby. Lower Queen Anne is also in walking distance to downtown, via Belltown if you're the walking type. You can also take the Monorail from Seattle Center into downtown.

I was happy to see the Inn is so conveniently located and yet it is a very nice place to stay. The rooms and the property are simple and it is refreshing. There may have been some rennovations in the past but my room was very nice. Rm. 202 overlooks the needle and First Ave, with small kitchenette that I never used because of the numerous nearby restaurants. You can get stuff to cook if you want as there is a grocery store across the street from the entrance. It is easy to get around using the bus system with stops across the street depending on your direction. It was rainy when I was there but did find some breaks to try out the Hotel courtyard. It is worth a try to stay here. Pros: Location, Transportation easy, Price Cons: , Street folk in area

My wife and I had only a few days in Seattle and had decided to stay a little out of the city grind. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was dellicous. I was surprised by some of these other comments, as we found everything to be in perfect working order. The location is perfect for about everythin we wanted to do; go to the Space Needle, see the Experiance Music Project, and so forth. In short, I have nothing but praise for the Inn at Queen Anne. It was truly a weekend to remember. Pros: Inexpensive, Helpful, Location
