We loved Hotel Monaco! The hotel is very unique, every room is decorated in wonderful rich colors of reds, yellows , blues; fun colors that make you want to go home and paint your house! The entry way, hallways and rooms transport you to faraway places, the artwork is fantastic, the details and furnishings are fascinating. In the evenings they have wine in their huge relaxing lobby where you can sit and play a game of chess while you sip and enjoy the beginnings of what are sure to be a fun evening in Seattle. They are conveniently located on 4th Ave., near all the fun downtown places and excellent restaurants. Happy 10 year Anniversary Katherine!!

The Hotel Monaco is so bright and fun! I love the bold colors and the funky decor. If you can swing it - stay in one of the Monte Carlo suites for a little extra room. The rooms are downright luxurious. The hotel manages to be upscale but not snooty - you can request a goldfish to share your digs with and they will put it in your room. You'll get a little card with the fishy's name, in case you want to have a chat. I love a hotel that is upscale AND has a sense of fun!

we got to spend a nite at a suite in the hotel monaco and lemme tell you, this place is money. i've stayed at the W, wasn't too impressed. this is way better. the 'sleep with the fishes' is what they call their little program where you can request to have a goldfish delivered to your room so that you have company all night. very cute idea. nice lobby with a free nightly wine hour starting at 5:00. and the room was plush! large but warm feeling, all aveda products, fluffy robes, comfy lounge chairs, and 2 tv's iincluding a large flat screen. free wifi, too. comfy bed but the pillows were pretty mushy. they also give you an assortment of magazines, several phones, the works. i was a very happy camper.

We took a mini-vacation downtown to explore our own city and tried Hotel Monaco since they accept dogs. They not only accept dogs, they LOVE dogs! There was a welcome sign with both of our dog's names at check-in and biscuits to welcome them. The staff was great and always said "Hi" to them as we went in & out of the hotel. The rooms are decorated an upbeat, playful decor and the leopard print robes are just plain fun! There is a fee for parking. I don't know if you have in & out privileges with your car, because once we parked our car we easily walked everywhere. The rooms were very comfortable and cozy. I'd definitely go back and I'm looking forward to trying other Hotel Monacos across the country. For food, try at least one meal or dessert at Sazerzc in the hotel. Their food was great.

The best thing about staying at Hotel Monaco was the location. You could walk to just about anywhere in downtown Seattle. If you do come by car, the hotel offers valet parking for $25/night. The hotel is very trendy--the high-ceiling lobby is gorgeous and they have some cute perks such as pet goldfish and complimentary evening wine service. That being said, it isn't quite as luxurious as they portray it to be. If you want luxury, go all the way, not just part-way. The rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated, but their difference to lesser-classed hotels seems to be only in the colour palette and extra wallpaper on the walls. If this hotel is within your budget, go for it--you will get fine service and clean, modern lodgings in an ideal location. But if you are saving your dollars for a real treat, keep saving for the real deal.

I recently stayed a night at the Hotel Monaco, a sort of mini-vacation for an evening. The hotel is very cool, great color schemes and just a neat feel to it. They allow small dogs to stay, and if you request one, you can have your own goldfish while you're there! I did request that service, and it was a neat little touch to my stay. The only downside was that I reserved a suite but received a large room, which was their definition of that type of suite. That was disappointing, as I feel they should market that bit more clearly. Otherwise, very nice stay.

I've stayed at the Monaco in Seattle, Denver, and Chicago and loved them all. The best experience was Denver where I stayed in a suite. We got there in the late afternoon and checked in during the wine hour where people sat around the fire, many with their dogs (pets are allowed), talking and laughing and taking advantage of the chair massage they had set up . The suite was bright and imaginatively furnished with elaborate drapery separating the living room and bedroom, it was very bohemian circus. The standard rooms are also nice and I've noticed that the staff always takes the time to learn your name. Even if you're on a business trip, it makes you feel like you're having fun.

We used this hotel to host about 100 of our wedding guests last summer and they came through in a big way. The rooms are unique and very cool, there is a free wine tasting each night in the lobby, Sazerac -the restaurant/bar serves up yummy food and great drinks and frankly, I'm over the "W" and how dark it is in there. The service was impeccable and our guests loved the fact that they could each have a pet gold fish in their room (water changed and fish fed by hotel staff). Centrally located- right near the new library and walking distance to the water,market,etc.
