When I forst moved to Seattle from Chicago, my friend and I weren't able to find a decent place for cheap to stay. After staying in a weird and dirty hostel in Capitol Hill, someone suggested we try the Green Tortoise downtown. We instantly felt at home! Of course, it's nothing fancy, but it had clean rooms, beds and bathrooms, was cheap, warm, and even a night where people socialize and share food.
It was our home for three weeks until we were able to get an apartment, and it was overall a good experience at a cheap price. Best of all, I think, was the location! Great downtown location, perfect for budget travellers.
