We stayed overnight at the Edgewater on election night 2009. The room was impeccable and pristine clean. We had dinner there. We ordered from the set menu, $30 for a 3 course dinner. The food was excellent and beautifully presented, and the service was perfect. All in all we give them 5 stars

I had been given a gift certificate for the Max, and was afraid of what I thought would be a closet with a bed (since the cirtificate was the basic class of room), but instead I had a PERFECT room for a night away! The size was larger than expected after reading previous reviews, the bed was absolutely the most cozy I have slept in, and even the bath robes were plush! I was on the 8th floor and had somewhat of a view (as much as can be expected in an older building in a modern city setting), and slept with my windows open with no interruption. I have to admit, after all the negative written by others I was afraid to stay. Now I think that just because they are used to the large lack-luster rooms of the national chains, that a room such as boutiques offer, one that is not absolutely cavernous is somehow shortchanging them. The amenities were high end, the furniture was very relaxing, the toiletries very nice quality, and the staff friendly- I honestly couldn't have asked for anything more. Even the art pieces in the room were unique, no prints. How often do you see this in a hotel?
Yes, the art can be a little racey, but that is the job of art is to make you see things in a way you normally wouldn't, to appreciate that which in another context my make you less apt to ponder, or even worse to take it for granted. Initially I was caught off-guard when I first walked in, but after one or two times of passing bye the "noted" picture next to the front desk I had to stop and look- it is a painting of such fine work that it looks like a photo. I am saddened that someone wouldn't stop to actually look at the work rather than the mere subject. I may not have it in my livingroom, but I can say that the art is of superior standard.
Thank you Max, you have given me hope that sometimes there is more than meets the eye!
Pros: comfort, quiet, and plush surroundings
Cons: none I noted

We loved Hotel Monaco! The hotel is very unique, every room is decorated in wonderful rich colors of reds, yellows , blues; fun colors that make you want to go home and paint your house! The entry way, hallways and rooms transport you to faraway places, the artwork is fantastic, the details and furnishings are fascinating. In the evenings they have wine in their huge relaxing lobby where you can sit and play a game of chess while you sip and enjoy the beginnings of what are sure to be a fun evening in Seattle. They are conveniently located on 4th Ave., near all the fun downtown places and excellent restaurants.
Happy 10 year Anniversary Katherine!!

My wife and I had only a few days in Seattle and had decided to stay a little out of the city grind. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was dellicous. I was surprised by some of these other comments, as we found everything to be in perfect working order. The location is perfect for about everythin we wanted to do; go to the Space Needle, see the Experiance Music Project, and so forth. In short, I have nothing but praise for the Inn at Queen Anne. It was truly a weekend to remember.
Pros: Inexpensive, Helpful, Location

Amy and I are in Seattle a few times a year. We stay at The W Hotel whenever we are here. The hotel is edgy and modern - typical W - and we like it a lot. The rooms are large and as you get above the 15th floor have incredible views (2002 is our favorite room.) The bar scene is usually hopping, the appetizers - especially the "Sexy Fries" are awesome, and the service is nice. There's a small workout room, but I usually just put on my running shoes and head down to the water and then take a right on Alaskan way - it's a nice long (> 4 miles) boardwalk that goes through a park at about mile 2. Finally, there's a Starbucks literally across the street so it's easy to bring my princess her vente latte first thing in the morning after I get back from my run.

This is one of my favorite hotels to stay in during a weekend great away to the city. The rooms are very nice and the beds are very comfortable, it is hard to get out of them in the morning. The views are unbelievable too. I have stayed here 3-4 times and every room I have had was spectacular. The staff is delightful too. We had a bachlorette party here one time and they went out of their way to get us anything that we needed. Great shopping and places to eat nearby. I will be coming back to this hotel for future stays.

Inn at the market is a beautiful boutique hotel right next to Pike Place Market. The staff is very professional, and the rooms are beautiful. Nothing can beat the harborviews from the suites. While expensive, the Inn at the Market is a great place to splurge for a weekend in Seattle. It's great location means you can walk around downtown easily, and come back in the evening to rest in your Tempurpedic bed and plush robes. My husband proposed to me at the Inn at the Market and the staff were very cooperative in helping him complete his elaborate plan.

BEST BRUNCH BUFFET EVER. Especially if you like fancypants brunch with carved prime rib, freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh shrimp cocktail, crab legs, lovely pastries, made to order omelets and waffles, etc. This was by far the most expensive brunch I have ever had, but fortunately I was able to expense it when I tried it. My husband took his mom there for brunch one year and she was definitely impressed :) It is an exquisite meal. Service is always 5 star-staff is attentive (some might say overly so). This is the kind of place where the wait staff refolds your napkin anytime you get up to try more food from the buffet. Luxurious, tasty, and oh so fancy.

When my grandmother wanted to visit, and talked about staying at a "Best Western," I was against it. But when I saw the internet imageshttp://www.universitytowerhotel.com/ of this old Art-Deco style building, I changed my mind! It wasn't very expensive, though twice the price of a "Motel 6". For about $120/night, we got a view of the U-District, two queen-sized beds, free wireless internet, continental breakfast, and great service. It's a block away from 45th and University, near the Neptune Theater. There is a Tully's attached to it, and an upscale bar/banquet area in the basement. And the lobby is so cozy, you might not feel like leaving it.
