It sounds schlocky but putting together a video montage for a loved one's birthday, wedding, etc. is a wonderful gift and always much appreciated.
We've used Digital Ave three times (for a 60th birthday, my great aunt's 90th and my sister's wedding) and each time we were blown away by the creativity coming out of the "Laurie and David" team. They even went out of their way to contact a school's alumni office to retrieve an old photo and do some great cutting and pasting when needed.
The products (usually a 20-minute video to music with photos and/or video) are heirlooms that will be lovingly watched over and over again. Each one will cost anywhere from $350-$700, depending on the length.
Go in with a group and put a smile on your loved one's face. All you need to do is collect the photos and a couple of songs and Digital Ave will do the rest! They are truly amazing.

Everytime I go into best buy I have a great experience. I have bought computers, cds, movies, video games and some of my friends have bought digital cameras there. We all say the same thing they are really nice. The people seem to know alot about what they are selling which is important because if i know more about it then they do then I will probably leave. I have always been treated good here.

I found Miko on craigslist.org, which is where I usually shop for all manner of domestic help. Here's the link to the ad to which I responded:
http://Seattle.craigslist.org/cps/79455272.html
I called him on Sunday, he was here Monday by 1 and my myriad Mac/network issues were fixed beyond my wildest imagination by 4. He even solved a MAJOR issue I didn't even know I had.
His rates are amazing, he's incredibly knowledgeable about Mac and PC platforms, and he's so patient and helpful with sharing what he knows so you can try to fix it yourself next time.
I wish I had found him sooner. I also wish there were more stars to give on this one.

My hats off to Platt Electric. Not only do
they provide a good price on any electrical
product they have the best customer
service. I use Chris Alfano. He's been in the
business for years. He's always at his
desk, he always returns my calls promptly
and most of all, he knows the business
inside and out. Platt is a great company
because they are family run and have
the community at heart. They donate
to a lot of the arts/theater/music
community and that makes a difference.

Thanks to a couple of your suggestions I went ahead and took the car to Magnolia Hi Fi and I must say I'm glad I did. They got me in the next day and did a very high quality job.
It was very obvious from the get go that these folks knew their stuff. Their friendly staff offered suggestions without trying to sell me anything, did exactly what I wanted, and I walked away two a very satisfied customer.
I visited the branch on Roosevelt across from Whole Foods and while I waited there were a few other cool businesses to check out while I waited (Pop Tots rocks).
If I ever needed to do this again I would return to Magnolia Hi-Fi!

They are always very helpful everytime I come in. They don't make you feel bad if you don't know how to do something they just help you along with your project. Whenever, I need to fix something I go over there and talk to them first to get an idea of what to do before I call a professional.
They also have some cool hard to find items such as dutch ovens and other pots and pans. The store itself is kind of small especially compared to the Home Depot but the staff is more readly available. Plus I like to support the little guy.

Unless you're a contractor, you'd never know that the big brick building on Stone Way is one of the best-stocked electrical supply shops in town. Don't be intimidated by the gruff exterior - pull in around back and belly up to the counter.
You can't browse the aisles like you can at the big box stores, but if you know what kind of electrical supplies you need (everything from fixtures and cable to tools and controls), they've got it on hand, and for a great price. Even an electrical novice like me can come away with just what I needed (with a little help from the patient folks behind the counter). Recommended.

Chris at KDH Consulting is who I use for any technology problems. He can take care of ANYTHING and, though his rates are high, always seems to make the bill reasonable. He's very popular, so sometimes I have to wait to get help, but he's super efficient, friendly, professional, and a great "go to" guy for any computer problem.

More
The good folks at the Bellwether Group are public relations specialists -and all-around good people. The firm was founded, I believe, so that the partners and associates could continue to work on projects in which they believe, and still make a good living. Whether they are working for groups like the Monorail or bringing their expertise to bear individually through serving on boards, they are excellent members of the community.
