My wife and I recently decided to take the plunge on purchasing a 50" plasma screen TV. We did our research online, read the reviews, talked to Friends, and knew exactly what we wanted. We planned to buy the TV online, because based on our past experiences with high dollar electronic purchases, we usually find much lower prices on the Internet and it saves us driving around and dealing with pushy, inept, commissioned sales people. After a few days of carefully digging around the web, I'd found the lowest possible delivered price for the specific brand and model of TV we wanted was $1,332. Then we stopped by Video Only in Lynnwood, WA to take a peek at the TV stands they stocked and almost by accident we found the price of the exact model TV we planned to buy online was $199 less than the best delivered price we could find on the web. So we bought the TV on the spot at Video Only and added a matching home theater system I'd been eying for $100 less than typical online prices. We also bought a nice TV stand for about half the price of a similar model we'd seen early that day at Best Buy. Needless to say we're thrilled with every aspect of our buying experience at Video Only. I should mention the sale reps were in no way pushy... they stayed out of my way until I called them over and needed assistance. I think it really helped that we went into the store knowing exactly what we wanted. So my advice: Do your research online, decide what you want beforehand, research pricing, then visit Video Only for the best rock-bottom price!

Those of us who use Macs know that it takes a certain level of knowledge to choose a Mac over a PC. When you go into the Mac Store you're surrounded by like-minded people who truly know what they're talking about.
I totally disagree with Jessica B, who says that the Mac Store is geared at making money off college students. College students at UW get a student discount at the University Book Store computer store... so she's way off base there.
Trust me. If you want good, solid advice regarding Mac producst, this is where you want to go.

I’m glad I don’t have much experience with television repair places, but after going to teletron, I feel confident in giving them some props.
I have an older set and wasn't sure if it was better to replace or repair. The teletron guys were pleasant to deal with and seemed quite knowledgeable of my particular vintage.
they guessed to replace my set would be about $150 (it’s not a large screen) and to repair would be about $85. I choose the latter. one, to put off a purchase decision and two, teletron endorsed it as a quality set that had a lot of years left in it.
their turn-around was two days and their estimate was accurate. now I’m happily watching a clear picture with the knowledge I saved a few bucks and kept my tv out of a landfill for a few more years.

I recently had some phone conversations and a meeting with T&R Electric regarding some potential work on the condo building I live in. T&R was responsive to my inquiries and came out on short notice to tour the condo building.
In the end T&R decided the project was too big for their firm and recommended a few other companies to get in touch with. While they've never actually done electrical work for me (hence the 3 stars) I was impressed at how upfront they were. As large as the project was they didn't try to overreach and put themselves or the condo association in a bad situation. Check out T&R if you're considering some electrical work.

Unless you're a contractor, you'd never know that the big brick building on Stone Way is one of the best-stocked electrical supply shops in town. Don't be intimidated by the gruff exterior - pull in around back and belly up to the counter.
You can't browse the aisles like you can at the big box stores, but if you know what kind of electrical supplies you need (everything from fixtures and cable to tools and controls), they've got it on hand, and for a great price. Even an electrical novice like me can come away with just what I needed (with a little help from the patient folks behind the counter). Recommended.

This great store provides a good selection of electrical supplies, lighting products such as can lights and some home networking products (mainly cat 5e) at great prices.
Prices of many items as or better than online pricing without the delays in shipping.
Staff are friendly and very helpful in a no nonsense sort of way.
For some purchases or to get the best possible pricing, you may need to set up an account with them but if you are in the business or undertaking a major diy project it is worth looking into.

If you're in the market for DSL and value your time, the only company you should bother to talk to is Seattle-based Speakeasy Networks. If you shop around, you'll quickly find out that they are (by far) the most expensive option - but oh boy are they worth it. Some of the reasons:
- You don't have to deal with Qwest. At all.
- You pay for x amount of bandwidth and they'll let you use it all, without threatening you about it.
- By far the best support in the industry... their reps can work without a 20-item checklist.
I've been with them 7 years running now, and have no intention of going elsewhere.

After purchasing our Explorer, we wanted an overhead DVD player installed. We called Sounds on Wheels and asked what they could recommend. We settled on a Myron & Davis player and they promptly installed it for us. The player never worked right, but my husband and I kept forgetting to call and have it taken care of. We finally did yesterday and they had us bring it in that day. By the following day, they had completely replaced the unit. Now THAT is standing behind a product! I was extremely impressed by their customer service.
