After calling tons of dentists to find an appointment close to the holidays, I finally found this one who was able to get me in that week. They were nice, but it took them a half hour to get done with their chit chat and get started on a routine exam and cleaning. After an hour had gone by they still weren't done with the cleaning. I had to schedule to come back to have the other half of the cleaning done. After another hour of extremely slow work and constant nagging for me to come back for unneccary cosmetic work, I told them I had to go. It was a really creepy experience for me. I wouldn't recommend going here unless you have an emergency and can't get in elsewhere.

I am not exactly a young man anymore nor am I in prime physical condition. Nevertheless, I was eager to get back out on the pitch and play a little futbol. Sadly, my return to soccer was cut short by a nasty injury that occurs all too frequently among men of my age and in my condition: ruptured achilles tendon. Ouch.
Anyway, last week I saw my regular physician at the UW Physicians Roosevelt clinic:

She refered me to the UW emergency room for "fast track" treatment which means I didn't have to wait too long. Nice. After a round of x-rays and exams by medical residents and nurses I was given the diagnosis and told to go the Sports Medicine clinic for a follow up.
That visit was today and I was really pleased with the experience. After the requisite paperwork, I was examined by Dr. Greene who explained the pros and cons of surgical repair. (I opted to have it done) He was patient and clear with me which I appreciated. Not something you always get with doctors. After our visit, I was seen by a resident and medical student who were equally attentive. Once I'd spent some QT with the doctors a medical assistant helped me find a boot to wear pre-post surgery and answered any of my lingering questions about the surgical experience. My last stop was with the billing person who was very informative regarding what would be covered, what wouldn't, and the procedures I'd need to follow to ensure there weren't any issues with insurance now or later.
In short, it was as pleasant an experience as I could have hoped. The medical and office staffs were all nice, helpful, and efficient. If you find yourself in the unfortunate situation of needing care for a sports-related injury, then I recommend getting care at UW Sports Medicine.

I went to Dr. Edward Blahous at the Sports Medicine Clinic in Ballard awhile ago for general foot problems that arose due to soccer. He is extremely knowledgeable, and friendly. He also is very conscious of how expensive certain treatments can be, so he makes sure to give you alternatives. The office has a very nice atmosphere.

Drs Schuette & Bowe are wonderful with children & parents - I HIGHLY recommend them.
One word of caution - avoid Dr. Spector - he makes extremely inappropriate comments to girls & women - I think it is his attempt at humor, but very disturbing on so many levels.

I recommend The Polyclinic Downtown. They have a great dermatology practice attached to their newly renovated downtown location. They offer laser hair removal services as well as a lot of other cosmetic dermatology services. Their doctors are excellent. You can check out more about it here:

You do not have to be a bride to do the training with Christi Masi. She does one on one and has different workgroups. She will not only give you fitness advice but also does nutrional stuff with you. She does all kinds of levels and will work you hard if you want.
She can train in Seattle and Redmond
Highly recommend her.

I've been taking my pets there for a couple years and I always feel like I get caring, attentive care for them. I especially like Dr. Mentzer. And the vet techs are really caring and professional. They all seem to really care about animals.

There are plenty of good massage therapists in Seattle. There are even quite a few great ones. When I came across Terri, I found an exceptional one. During the massages I was comfortable and felt taken care of. The incredible part came the next day, when ALL of my muscle complaints had disappeared. Terri is very good and finding and working out structural and energetic imbalances. I trusted her to relieve all my aches and pains during my pregnancy and see her for acute pain and general maintenance currently. I would recommend her to anyone.

Deep in the Pike Place Market there's an herbal apothecary. It's kind of nice that's it's hidden away (less crowds). They offer tarot card reading sometimes which can impress your out of town guests. But generally it's got the typical new agey, alternative health, incense supplies. Lots of dried herbs and teas.
