I know this does not answer your question, but I can't help it: I have to let you know. I found an organic pie crust at PCC that is so flaky and delicious I find myself digging around the apples to get at it; and I am notoriously someone who leaves crust on the plate. Coupled with Martha Stewart's Mile High Apple Pie recipe, I have had an astounding number of compliments (and requests!) for the pie. IF you have the time, try it out. It's a less time-consuming option than making your own crust, and turns out pretty delicious.

Dr. Simunds has been my dentist for a long time, and all I have to say about him are good things. He is patient, caring, funny, smart, and very calming. While he cleans your teeth his beautiful and equally caring wife sorts out the administrative business. When you leave they always make sure to wish you a good night. While this may seem standard for a dentist what I really like is his philosophy on the Dentist/Patient relationship. I am never pushed for treatment that is only marginally needed or expensive. He takes the route that encourages stopping the problem before it starts in the first place. He watches out for my pocketbook, and my well-being. Hopefully you'll enjoy him too!

If you want to heal, come here. Come sick, sad, cranky, stressed, but do NOT come without a positive mental attitude. I started coming to Dr. Scott six years ago. I do go as much, because I don't need to, but that speaks to Dr. Scott's ability. He's fast, efficient and remembers the names of hundreds of clients. There are a few glitches (some days/times are packed) but it's worth it. It feels like a family there. Sometimes I just go to be near some good, solid, caring energy. There is a lot of focus on self-healing, healing without drugs, and relieving stress so that our bodies don't have to deal with it.
Dr. Scott is understanding and flexible and I highly recommend him.

The folks at SeaDruNar do good work for the community and those who they are helping. The rehabilition works and I can see potential, but the whole business seems too small right now. In addition to great service, they are a benefit to our Seattle society. These guys were featured in practically every newspaper in town at one point or another.

While this Best Western is not the most luxurious, it's just fine for a cheap hotel. Twice I have called to get a room rate of $65/night - though their hot tub is seemingly always broken. The rooms are large enough, the internet works well, and parking is good. The only downside is that it's tricky to get to if you're traveling from the East part of Seattle (in city), because it's nearly impossible to turn left off Denny.

You can usually get a Red Lion hotel room on the 99 stip for a little cheaper than the other hotels. This Red Lion has been recently remodeled, and they have adjoining rooms (a hotel rarity these days!), if you have a party that would like it. If you're traveling to Seattle, consider staying here; great hot tub, good service, and if you go by hwy 518 and 509, you're only 20-30 minutes from downtown - that may sound like a lot, but it's not.

I discovered Giggles and Grins recently due to needed emergency dental care. I found them very nice (particularly Dr. Wendy), very easy to work with, and calming. I recommend seeing Dr. Wendy or the younger Dr. James (either Burien or Kirkland) - they're eager to work with you. They also have a good, new facility in Kirkland.

More
Dr. Dave Kirdahy at Pinehurst Chiropractic treats most of the professional dancers that I know including myself. He's a friendly unassuming guy who kinda seems to me like a wizard at what he does. He makes adjustments and measurements almost without you noticing sometimes, all while making small talk that might seem irrelevant but I happen to think it's more strategic than that. He's smart and I trust him, my only complaint is that he goes too fast. Sometimes I want someone to spend a bit more time with me, explaining things and whatnot.

Ok, so Longs is the Fred Meyer of drugstores. Great prices on hair care products, cosmetics and sundries. They also have great sales on food items, although it's a crap shoot as to what they will have. The REAL reason we shop there is the small display of English and European canned goods. In Longs? Yes, you too can go to Longs for your Digestive Biscuits (delicious, chocolate coated crackers for the uninitiated), barley water, jams, jellys, "curried beanz" - and our favorite.. "Spotted Dick". We kid you not.
