No charge to come out to "snake" a clogged apartment drain. Would have charged $275 if they could unclog it. Had the nerve to quote $2500 to plumb a new line. I got another "reputable" company to correctly diagnose the clog and fix. They 'only' charged me $600. Found out later I could have called an independant plumber and he would have charged me $250 for the same work. I saw Southwest Plumbings' ad and thought to give them a try. I will never call them again.

I called South West because I had dropped my ring down the disposal. The nice lady on the phone made me feel a little better when she told me that this happens a lot. Within a couple of hours 2 men showed up to try to retrieve my ring. The older fellow explained that good plumbing companies always have apprentices. I guess that is a good way for a young man to learn a trade. Any way in a few short minutes they had found my ring. NO CHARGE! They let me know that they would be happy to inspect my plumbing and heating systems while they were there. They were so nice that I said O.K. A few minutes later the plumber came back and gave me a list of things that should be looked at or fixed. I explained that I did not have enough money to fix those things and he asked what my budget was. I thought that was kind of personal so I asked him why? He said that a couple of the things should really be fixed soon and that a couple could wait. If I could tell him what I could afford he would do what he could to fix a few of them. I told him that I was only comfortable spending a couple of hundred and even that would be tight. He checked the list and told me that he could fix the toilet for that amount and that by getting the toilet fixed I would also be saving money on the water bill. I said ok and before too long they were done. They showed me what they had repaired and left me the list for next time. I was happy to have the work done and very happy to have my ring back. I will be calling them again when I need a plumber. I am 86 so I don't know if I will ever need them, but if I do i will call. I also told my grandson to try them also. I think that this company is probably a good company. I know that in my life i've learned that you can't please everyone and you can't believe every thing that people say. You need to judge for yourself. Betty G

I wish i had looked them up and read these reviews before calling them a few months ago. I saw their impressive ad on a transit bus and called them for what I thought will be a free estimate to fix the broken grinder thing in my kitchen sink. The guy shows up, checks under the sink and then says he can fix it right away and goes on to explain at length what was wrong. So I sign the order. He wiggles something under the sink and 10 seconds later,I was out of $250. I felt incredibly ripped off because i hadn't gotten a chance to even get that estimate. Needless to say, it seems like that is their practice and I will not use them again. I have a need this morning with a leaking toilet tank and I'm calling Pioneer Plumbing out of Seattle, a referral from a friend. I will see how they do.

I had these guys out this morning to bid a clean out of my sewer line that is partially clogged. I knew that i needed to install a clean out since i couldn't locate the original clean out access. They bid the job at $2700 for what would be a few hours work at most! I laughed at the guy and he immediately took $700 off the bid. These guys are crooks! Get a second and third bid if you can. As it turns out i will end up doing my job for under $300.

Howabout instead of spending money on pricey advertising on Metro buses, you charge rates closer to what real plumbers charge. Maybe stand behind your work, too, and you won't be receiving so many negative reviews.

We had discovered a problem with our gas furnace and after calling the company who originally installed the furnace, and being told that it would not be until late the next day that they could come out. We called South West Plumbing and the call taker was very pleasant and professional and informed me that a tech would be out between 11-1. Then shortly after 11am we received a call saying that the Tech. was on his way. They arrived promptly did an inspection of the furnace and gave me an itemized price upfront. Less than an hour later they had completed the job, and replaced all the parts that had been removed and cleaned up the area and closed up the access doors. So from the time we called until the completion of the job was less than two hours !!!!! When the original company told us it would be not until late the next day for someone to come out. We were very satisfied with the job done by South West Plumbing. Their courteous, friendly service and professional manner deserves the highest praise and recognition. It is also what surprised me and is why I would recommend them to everyone!!! Dan and Fran S. 98148

He located a part that he needed and then he drove his own 4wd truck in difficult driving conditions to my house the following day with the part needed to make the repair. I had a major job done (didn't know it was major when I called). Everything good I had read from comments online and recommendations was TRUE!!! The technicians, a journeyman and an apprentice were great guys. They showed up shortly after I received a courtesy call, and were well within the time window they had said. They were very friendly and kind. I was treated with the upmost kindness and courtesy. They left the job as they found it. No mess! The journeyman tach explained the job very clearly and easy for the layman to understand. I will certainly call SW Plumbing in the future and recommend them to others. I also appreciated being able to get Sunday Service with NO hidden extra costs!! Katherine B.
