This place blew me away. I have 14 years experience in the salon industry, I spent 2006 traveling the United States researching salons and spas, and I've had my hair cut by the best of the best when it comes to stylists - so being new to Seattle and not knowing anyone in the industry made the thought of getting my haircut a little scary. In fact, I had planned to travel the 3000 miles back to the east coast to do so until I stumbled upon The Gilt Edge Society.
Instantly intrigued by their dedication to the arts, I established contact with Glen & Stephen and was so impressed by their sincerity and kindness that I knew I had to have my hair cut there. I scheduled my first appointment for a cut with Glen. I am probably as picky as they come - I know what I want, I know cutting basics and I am a stickler for customer service and professionalism.
My entire service exceeded my expectations. Glen has a straight forward approach and told me what needed to happen to my hair in order for it to work best with my facial structure. Upon my approval, he gave me by far the greatest haircut I have ever had - which, oddly enough was about $400 less than my previous east coast cut.
I returned for color a few weeks later and established just a few guidelines for what I was looking for but at this point felt comfortable enough with him that I knew he would do what was best. This was huge for me as I usually formulate my own color and then tell the stylist how and where to put it on my head. The results were great and I have received numerous compliments.
During both services Glen took the time to explain what he was doing and why, and in a non-salesmen like manner explained the products he was using on my hair and how I could create the same effects at home.
I was overly impressed with the service I received and would encourage anyone interested in getting a great hair at an overly fair price to go to The Gilt Edge.

Great Place to keep your hair up to date. Located right on the Burke Gilman Trail in Fremont in a 100 year old former railroad depot, Jenny and Brandon have done a great job of converting the old depot into a hair salon while preserving the old character of the building. Jenny cuts my hair as well as my wife and daughters and we all think she is fantastic.

I went to Shannon for the first time this past weekend and absolutely loved my experience at Mode. Shannon did a wonderful job with my color. I don't wear makeup, do my nails, etc. very often, so hair color is important to me - and Shannon didn't let me down. I'll be going back without question. Thanks Shannon!

with the luck i had at places like Salon 7, i was afraid to let anyone else touch my hair. i really didn't need another $75 mullet. so after hearing some good stuff about Mode Organic salon i decided to give it a try.
the negative first: parking. mode downtown is on 4th and pike, so you have to find a garage and pay.
that's the only negative. molly cut my hair and was great. she's nice, she listened to me, and i think she did a super job. the scalp massage i got before the cut was heaven, and all of the scents in the salon are very calming and natural-smelling. no harsh chemicals there!
huge windows, fun but not blaring music and nice people make up the rest of the outfit. i will return.

I simply adore LA Lace. It is minutes from my home and Raine is amazingly polite, fun and creative. The merchandise is a slice of heaven, a little something for everyone. Fama is the best for tiny weeny braiding. I have had lace fronts in the past but none comparible to LA's. Raine is the most meticulous and the lace looks super natural. Raine takes her time with pride and perfection. Fama is excellent with waxing, Raine does the best eyelashes on herself but you have to beg her to do them for you, she's like the eyelash extention queen. I love the atmosphere here, very colorful, very girly, it is like a girls club. You rarely see a man in here, so the vibe is very relaxed. These services are best when stressed and tense. She only works on appointment,but it's worth the wait if you can make book an appointment. The front staff are friendly and always co-ordinated with appointments via phone and in person. Cheers! The Salon is very simple. It used to be a garden shop and they still have the garden in the back where you can sit in the sun while your color is processing and relax!
Stylists lease the chairs and prices can vary but they are really reasonable and the work is amazing!

I was searching online to find a salon near my office that could fit me in for an "emergency" cut on my birthday. I found a couple reviews for Cherry on Top, called to see if they could fit me in and was scheduled the next day. When Heather answered the phone she was courteous and friendly and didn't make me feel like I was off my rocker for trying to squeeze in a short-notice visit. When I arrived the salon was very comfortable and clean- relaxing. Heather was fabulous - she listened to what I was trying to go for -figured out what my hair likes to do on its own and went to work. She gave me an absolutely amazing cut and style - I got a ton of compliments. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
