I love going to MacPhersons. It is mostly an open air fruit and vegetable market with very low prices that seem to be dependent upon what the farmers/suppliers seem to be produceing most. (One week, watermellon might be super cheap, the next week, it's the cabbage that's a great deal). Of course with the low prices comes some sub-obtimal produce: over ripe fruit, bruises, etc. But part of the fun of shopping here is picking through all of the produce looking for what it is that pleases you. They also have a rather impressive selection of peppers and other mexican themed ingredients. a downside is that it can be quite busy on the weekend, and kind of chaotic in the small parking lot.
Less
