This store has everything. Groceries, food bar, great produce, and a fairly good wine selection. I like to shop here if I'm giving a party because you can find unique and hard to find ingredients without having to go to Pike Place and deal with the parking. It's worth the drive out to West Seattle.

I've loved this store since it was the Admiral Thriftway. The Metropolitan Market is pretty similar, if even more upscale. This is a fun place to shop - expect to pay a bit more than at a more mainstream grocery store, but you can also expect a gorgeous, high quality produce selection, fabulous cheeses, an extensive wine collection and every so often they have gourmet cooking classes right in the middle of the store.

I know, for people who want a bargain, there's no need to *feel* good while grocery shopping...but I swear it makes the food taste better when the people behind the counter act like chefs instead of grunt workers. I try not to be snobby or pretentious because I really appreciate the way the food is prepared, laid out, and displayed. While this isn't my local grocer, I come here often and it's nice to be able to get a decent meal here and it's still cheaper than eating at a restaurant. Plus I like to look through their kitchen gadget area...

I'm surprised by the good reviews for this market. The Safeway in Ballard has higher quality produce and more product selection than this place. As I just mentioned, the produce is questionable, the baked goods are stale, and the selection is poor. I was very disappointed by this market. I especially expected more from it since it's on Queen Anne, but I've noticed that the Safeway on Queen Anne is pretty poor too. It doesn't have nearly the selection that the Ballard store has. I guess the lesson is not to grocery shop on Queen Anne, unless you are going to Trader Joes.

This is a palace of food. The prices are higher than other grocery stores but the quality is consistently high. Their produce is beautiful. The cheese selection is almost decadent and don't get me started on the ready made foods. Let's just say that when I first moved to West Seattle, I ate at the Metropolitan Market everyday for two months.

This grocery store carries all the usual groceries. Its charm lies in its more eclectic selection. This is true especially in the wine and cheese section as well as the bakery. Outside there is a flower market that really adds to the color of Queen Anne. The selection and freshness of flowers is also great. Prices are not as high as some other grocery stores in the area and quite often they have good sales on one or two high end items.
