I've lived in Green Lake for 3 years now and this is one spot that I LOVE! Happy Hour is great, servers are friendly. One of my favorite menu items is the Chicken Club Burgers a...

The food portions are not large and not very good. The beer is cold and service is fine. It's a cool, casual place, ideal for a meal and nice conversation but just don't have yo...

Stick with Wine and Beer for Happy Hour! 7/18/2006

In general, this is a cool place to hang out. Great location, after all. I love the Salmon sandwich for Happy Hour, and the corn dog bites with mustard are great filler food. :-) However, I recommend sticking with the beer on tap, or house wine during happy hour. When we ventured to order cocktails, they came out very weak. Like water. Ugh. Lesson learned. more

Don't forget the corn dog bites! 5/23/2006

It is true that Greenlake Bar and Grill has one of the best and most convenient happy hours (Sunday night at 9pm), but what people may not know is that among the usual happy hour menu items you can find corn dog bites. For about $2 you can get a small plate (about 10 bites) to enjoy for yourself and they are really fun to share. Probably the best part about the corn dog bites is that you know you can just go to Costco and get a huge bag and make them at home, but that will probably never happen so getting them at GB&G is a treat and kind of nostalgic. Each time I lift one to my mouth I'm transported back to my public school cafeterias where full size corndogs were a staple. GB&G is a great place to meet people after a Sunday night church service, which is what we normally do. Most of the time we get seated promptly and after awhile you get to know the staff and before long your waitress or waiter may become one of your friends. more

great dining by the lake 4/16/2006

Greenlake bar and grill is a nice little establishment to spend time in when you don't feel like making dinner. The happy hour here is quite comprehensive-you can get a grilled salmon burger for under three dollars and a bowl of soup or salad for under two dollars. They also have a sunset dinner option for around twelve dollars that contains soup or salad, an entrée, and dessert. One of the weeknights also has an all you can eat night for fish and chips. Overall the quality of the food is just okay. There is outdoor seating during the summer which is really nice because it is right across the street from Greenlake. The food served picks dishes from different regions of America-though nothing really stands out. They also have a nice drink list. The hot butter rum is quite good. Service is great and the ambiance is very cozy. Enjoy! more

Great neighborhood bar and grill 4/10/2006

Yes, it can be crowded, but it is definitely worth the wait. The happy hour menu cannot be beat and the food is tasty. Sit at the bar whenever you can help it--it is a perfect stop after walking around the lake or after work or a lazy Sunday or while watching the game on the tv in the back corner...perfect at any time. GLB&G is a favorite stop and an easy choice on those nights/afternoons/mornings when you think, "where should we go?" when all you want is a strong drink and some good food served by some very nice and unpretentious people =) more

GBG BABY! 4/10/2006

There is no other better Happy Hour. The prices are good, the food is good, and the beer is better. They have Boundary Bay Scotch Ale on tap, a rare find. The bar tender is a good man to talk to. The atmosphere (especially in the summer) is sweet. If you don't like it, then you don't like Greenlake. more

Post-walk grub 4/5/2006

Greenlake Bar & Grill is the perfect stop after a little exercise around greenlake. I visited with a friend on a Tuesday night and it was packed-likely due to the good weather. Despite having to wait 20 minutes for a table, we were very happy with our food. We ordered the fish tacos and fish and chips. Both were fresh and had a lot of flavor. Service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere, while a little dark, was pretty lively for a Tuesday. Note: Greenlake B&G is owned by the same company as Eastlake B&G. more

If Tangletown cuts the mustard for you, try Green Lake B & G 9/8/2005

Let's start with this....it's crowded! Especially at brunch on the weekends. That said, I think the food is hands down, much better than what Tangletown has to offer. You should give it a try. more
