I wish I would have gone there for all of my halloween items, but I did get the last accessories there this year. They have aisles upon aisles of goods that go from grotesque to hilarity. I was very pleased with the selection of items and thoroughly enjoyed my shopping experience. Longer hours during the week before Halloween was also convenient. I may even go back for other holiday items--they have another side of the store with party and display items that looks pretty lucrative. I would recommend this store to people for Halloween as well as for general party items. Pros: Great selections Cons: Insanely busy around Halloween

I went into the Northgate store today 6/28/06 and purchased two yards of fabric trim for my wedding gown. I got it out of the store and discovered the trim which looked white under store lighting had an ivory cast not to mention that where the associate cut it loosened the bead work. I came in three hours later for a refund and the cashier rudely refused to issue a refund or store credit pointing to the part where it states ALL COSTUME ITEMS including accessories, masks, leotards, tights, wigs, makeup and tiaras) claiming this is allegedly a "costume item". I do not see fabric, notions or trim in that list. Please forgive my ignorance but I do not consider fabric trim a "costume item", it is a "notion", I suppose that thread is considered a costume item as well? If I understand correctly this store policy is vague enough that they can deny anyone a refund because anything in their store is considered a costume item? If that's the case, then they should remove their policy because it is redundant and deceptive. Had I had known that this was considered a costume item not eligible for return, I would've simply not purchased it. The conduct and policies I encountered today has lost Display and Costume hundreds of dollars in potential sales considering I was intending on buying all of my wedding supplies, decorations and utilizing your rental services.As a business owner they may want to rethink their return policy because it is appear ant that they blatantly do not want to provide returns or exchanges. So buyer beware, I'm out $30 due to an employees negligence and have scrap trim that is not even worthy of a costume. It's a favorite around my office for finding unique birthday themes to decorate offices. The store is large and have resonable prices.

I would go here before driving all over town wondering if certain party stores will have what you need. The prices are for the most part reaonable however you will find yourself spending alot because there is just too many good things to choose from. We have had several themed parties and have always been very happy to our buys at Display and Costume.

I am a frequent customer of this particular store because they fulfill a large part of my decorating, party-planning, crafting and special events needs. This large (almost wherehouse-like) store is well organized and easy to navigate through. The aisles are wide and clear which makes it easy to get through without much fuss (except during the Halloween rush) and the items are easy to find. If you can't find something, a staff member is always more than happy to assist you (I've never had a problem with finding someone to help me, and sometimes they approach you first and ask if you need their help). I like to shop here for ribbons for my craft projects, gift wrap, balloons for parties, party favors, special decorations and signs and costumes for Halloween. They even carry rubber stamps and scrapbooking supplies as well as quite a selection of fabrics if you plan on sewing your own costume. For ballons in bulk, they conveniently rent out tanks to help you inflate a large number of balloons without having to spend a large amount of money. Another great bonus is that they do offer a discounted program for licensed businesses, which is great for craft-based small businesses. On off-season times, you can find some really good deals on items. During the Halloween rush, though, you should expect to deal with serious crowds and some extent of disorganization/chaos. Parking can also be rather limited during this time. PROS: The go-to store for parties/events, cheap prices, informative staff CONS: Sometimes difficult to find parking, Halloween rush can be chaotic

I have to disagree with all the reviews about this place. It's a great place to go and look around for costumes and to have fun doing it but when it comes down to paying money for their costumes; they charge a pretty penny. Other party decor are on the pricy end of things as well as their christmas decorations, which are available all year. If you are looking to throw a big party,this would be the place to go - if you're looking for a quick and cheap costume, I'd stick to other party stores. PROS: great costumes CONS: expensive though!!

Display and Costume is one of my favorite stores in Seattle - not only to shop in, but to browse in as well! They carry all sorts of goodies - from fabric for make-your-own costumes, to masks, face paint, wings, and much more. They also carry an extensive selection of party decorations relating to themes (Tiki, Pirate, etc). Parking is awful, especially when it gets around a major holiday, so be prepared to find somewhere else to park. Otherwise it's a great store for all your costuming needs! PROS: Everything else! I think this is the only place I go to get costume accessories and ideas. The large space allows for many choices. I have always been able to grab a few things for the Halloween party. The employees are always helpful. There are also a section for material/clothing, makeup, kiddie costumes,adult material costumes, masks, etc. If you live fairly close I would reccommend this as the place for costume stuff. There is also another section of the store that is unrelated to costumes,but I have the faintest idea what it is. Let me know sometime. PROS: large space=large selection, employees CONS:
